Odd issue with the main menu

I've never had an issue, ever, with Medieval 2: Gold on my Windows 7 PC. Not a single crash nor CTD and I've been playing it for 3 years. I recently installed 2 mods, Stainless Steel 6.4 and Third Age: Total War.

I'm not sure why now but when I load Medieval 2 or any of the Kingdoms expansions, the main menu is different. Before it had the usual "soldiers walking in the background" but now it's just a non moving picture of some knights with a lance. Is this normal? if needed I can take a screenshot.

Also I don't really mind but my save games for my Teutonic, Medieval 2 and Crusades campaign are gone.

Basically I'm just asking if this is normal.

No. Something else did it .Stainless Steel and third Age are mod foldered and have zero effect on any of the others. I've had as many as eight mods installed without this happening.
I did last week while trying to make an installer for my mod have all sounds disappear and the hourglass mouse icon turn to the arrowhead oneon all. I had to reinstall and patch the game all over, again.

Hmm, very odd. I can't think what may have done it, as I played Medieval 2 about a week before installing the mods and everything was fine. Only thing was setting Stainless Steel to run as administrator and turning off UAC, not sure how that would change my main menu though.

Everything seems okay for the moment apart from the menu, I'll start some new campaigns and see what happens, report back here.

Alright, so tried a few turns with England. Everything is okay for the moment.

Out of interest, in your Medieval 2 launcher does Stainless Steel show up between the Kingdoms campaigns?

I don't use the launcher. I use the desktop icons.
