    Default Roman Faction

Very good information about how is Roman Faction going to be from a developer : http://beefjack.com/features/total-w...ve-assembly/2/

    Here is the information :

“We’re certainly doing some things very differently,” Russell says. “Rome itself is going to be one faction, not three separate factions, so we’re going to get that political rivalry inside the faction rather than this artificial thing where you have three different Roman factions. Another thing we’re going to do is make sure that Rome is not the only playable faction from the start – because, in the original Rome, you had to unlock them all.''

From this we can understand that Rome will be one faction and there will be rivalry inside Rome!! Well that seems really fun. We will probably deal with Senate again .

    --------------------

Ok guys update time, some new info:

Ok, guys here I found new information about Roman Faction(I will edit the first post also) : http://www.dealspwn.com/total-war-rome-ii-interview-james-russell-118642

James Russel : " There are a number of things we’re doing to make sure this big world is manageable.
For example, we make sure the player starts small and builds their own empire their way. In Empire TW, the starting date meant that we gave the player the early British Empire and let them get on with it. In Rome II, we start at a time when Rome’s territory was small, and their survival not assured. This isn’t just an accessibility point – it makes the gameplay deeper because the player builds their empire up themselves - how they want to"

So this means that Rome will start as a small country so history date guessers can guess a better result now(not my topic)

James Russel also said : "We want to create a compelling world of intrigue, rivalry and betrayal, and clearly the Senate is a part of the setting in which that plays out. As I said, there may come a point when you want to dispense with the Senate and become Emperor… but there may be other ambitious Generals who might decide it is they who should be Emperor and march on Rome…"

So this gives us choise to choose Republic or Empire or did I get wrong :o

    This is A Good Thing.
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.

I'd be interested to see how they do the internal rivalries thing. It's not enough to just have betrayals (the only thing they've mentioned thus far)... I hope there's some kind of factional aspect to the individuals too. This way a "betrayal" wouldn't just take the form of an enemy roman army spawning, or one of your generals defecting or something. I hope there are members of the senate and the political sphere that the player DOESN'T control, who impact the factional rivalries and whatnot. Should be fun,

I like that the factions will be playable from the start, and having Rome be one faction will make the politics inside more interesting for the player. One thing I will miss is amassing my army, fighting the other Roman faction and in particular marching on Rome. But this will probably be represented when you declare yourself emperor, which I intend on doing.

Well I dont care that much about all factions are starting from start because at last you manage to play every single faction which as playable. Also it gives fun to try to unlock other factions so I'm neutral to it.

You said that you will going to miss wars between Roman factions but don't worry it is sure that you will going to have ROMAN enemies inside of your Empire also I agree with you, turning Republic to an Empire will cause you trouble I think. But to turn Republic to Empire you will have to destroy Senate who is the biggest enemy of the player?

Rome is going to be a special faction then... I hope they put Senate stuff to Carthage also because it is known that senate of Carthage had great power. It was even more powerful then Hannibal I think in that era(I may be wrong about this ). I hope they will put senate or other special factors to 8-9 factions so that would make the game-play more fun. In MTW 2 there was a pope factor and that made the game much more interesting. In ETW there was no factor. In first Rome there was Senate factor and 3 brother factions for Rome. In NTW, Napeolon and his allies versus Coalition Forces made the game interesting. In RTW 2 they have to put something interesting for all of the playable factions!!

Was just wondering if Rome would be split into multiple factions - glad to see it wont. My guess is we'll see the Roman Republic be very hard to maintain with lots of revolts and civil wars (perhaps with entire provinces deciding to break away) and the option of becoming an Empire suppressing the number and severity of in-fighting, but at a cost to the economy or some other negative aspect.

Can't wait to see how CA decides to implement it though

This is great. I hope you can do a civil war in Rome earlier though, in Rome 1 it was ridiculous how long you had to wait to do this. You should have the option from the start of the game.

Shouldn't be at a specific time i think it should be like ETW's Revolutions but more Revolutionized. or when one's loyalty goes too low and starts getting a bit too clever.

The way they are advertising the new roman faction does sound sweet. There will most likely be lots of civil war and dealing with the senate will be fun.

As far as multi-player is concerned, I was actually hoping to play with my cousin both being roman and each us taking our own paths. Maybe one of us tries to stay republic and the other one would try to become emperor. I just think that is a campaign that would be awesome to play.

I know they said they will be putting a lot more detail into all the factions which is will make multi-player much better for which ever one of us decides not to be rome.

So it looks like this will kick off somewhere before first Punic war if Rome is going to be small.
