Will this replace your mouse and keyboard?
I was wandering across the internet when I came across this video:
http://mblog.lib.umich.edu/~rdivecha...rld_of_sm.html
A couple months old, but imagine the use of that technology! Remember Minority Report? Within years, a mouse and a keyboard could be things of the past.
Apple apparently has these patents of the technology, and some speculate that a new generation of touch-screen iPods (or possibly even laptops) could be the next big thing. Of course, this is just speculation and/or reasoned guessing, nothing solid.

I wonder how this could affect the PC market? If it ever takes off outside of Apple's use of it.

That looks amazing. I wonder how long it would take for such a techonology to become mainstream.

Many years I think, people are too conservative to accpet radical new technology like this.

Apple actually does have a pretty good track record of obtaining new technologies and including them as standard in all of their products - from now-common things like microphones and cameras to bluetooth and wi-fi. Apple has had all of those standard long before anyone else.
So if they were to utilize this, and standardize it among apple hardware, imagine what that would do to the computer market. If it was a success, it would be wise to invest in stocks of Apple. If it fails, we loose Microsoft's main competitor. (Linux, but most linux computers were originally XP)
