Default So I loaded up Shogun 2 today...

and for some reason I can select "Rise of the Samurai", yet I never bought the Rise of the Samurai campaign. So I'm sitting here alt-tabbed from my game flabbergasted. I checked the "View Downloadable Content" thing and it says I have it there. I checked the store page but it does not say I have it there. I also do not have an email from Steam saying I purchased something, and I made sure that the email I used Steam for is sending the mail to my main Email account.

I'm thinking the best course of action is to report this to Steam Support, and has anyone else experienced this?

Also, I was NOT gifted it. And does anyone know where I would report it? I can't find a suitable place on Steam Support. Never mind, just submitting a ticket.

Is Steam worth that amount of hassle for them? Would they do the same if you paid them £10 by accident? Why not just play it and not worry about it? It`s their problem if they decided to give you the game for free.

Because I'd rather support the developer by actually buying it, than haven just been given it.

It's also strange because the Store Page says I do not own it, yet the "See Downloadable Content" (The ones you own) says I have it, along with in game.

And I'd rather not get banned for having it, as it could be perceived as haven been pirated. Plus, I'm being honest, not mooching off of an accident.

It's also supports JOB to deal with stuff like this. That's why the exist.

I don't think someone reporting receiving a game or DLC would have pirated or hacked for it

Any news from their service about this?
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

Not yet, support normally takes a few days to get back. I've had to use support before, and they're actually really helpful support. Not like on many sites where it is an automated response, even if you email back when it says to do that to get a real person. A real person every time .

I got it too. Weird. Maybe they're making it free and haven't announced it yet? Wait, did you get Shogun 2 with the Total War Master Collection? I did, and Fall of the Samurai was included in the pack. Maybe it's a bonus for those who bought it that way because they might as well add it after having two of three campaigns?

It's fine by me if they decided to give it to me for free, but I don't want to start a campaign and then lose it because say, it was a bug or mistake to add that campaign and they remove it like "haha, just kidding". I want Steam and CA to be cool with that before playing. If they want 8 bucks I'm more than happy to give it to them. If not, cool and thanks a lot.

I did get it from the Master Collection, I wonder if it is part of that. Hm.

After looking around some Youtube comments, I can confirm that others who bought the Total War Master Collection like us seemingly got Rise for free as well. Does anyone have any official information (ie from Steam or CA) about the matter?

Is it an issue that I want to know what the cause of this all is?

Can't tell if ignorant, or just ignoring facts.

At the time it was possible that it was a glitch, and if it was I could have been banned for playing it and not reporting it. However, it turned out to be the opposite, which I'm quite thankful for

Oh look, the Anti-Steam train just rolled into the station.

It's as if it is an issue that I want to know WHY I have it. You seem to take some sort of offense at that, which I find completely inappropriate and unneeded.

    Curiosity, learn what it means.

Though I shall admit there is a bit of a hypocrisy in me. I use SteamGifts.com and have won a few games: Guns of Icarus Online Beta (Admittedly there were 15000 copies being given away and there were not 15000 entries and it was a developer giveaway), Turba (1000 copies were given away, though there were 16500 entries a stroke of luck if you ask me and it was a developer giveaway as well), and Plants vs. Zombies GOTY (The only one I have won when there was only one copy being given away).

However, in this case I was planning on buying Rise of the Samurai, I don't see why it is a big deal that I WANT to support CA for their future efforts.
