Can you start vanilla?

Okay so this is odd. I can load up vanilla. All of the mod options are turned off and I can play multiplayer. It still says at the top right corner that I'm running a modded version though, despite no mods being active.

It's still reading the user script.
Why Mod Manager does not work I don't know. I have not tried using it.
