Suggesting is useless without a budget.. also better move this to the basement
1. Impossible to know since we don't know system specs.
2. On what budget?
3. Wait until next generation of CPU's/GPU's come out.
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.
My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.
sorry guys stupid question.its gonna be a high end pc budget2000+ euro and buying in late 2013
Not a stupid question, though you might want to wait until they announce the system specifications. I imagine if you spent 2000 euros with what tech is out now, you'd run it fine. But, take that with a grain of salt, as you should with every other post until CA announces the official specs.

CA has stated it will have the same min req as Shogun 2. Besides, it's on the same engine. I can run all recent TW games on max settings, even though my PC is five years old. If he can run FotS maxed out with a brand new computer, it is certain he can do the same with Rome II. The graphics look pretty much the same on the trailer, excluding the facial animations. For those you only need more RAM.
hi centurions please take into consideration that by technical reasons Rome 2 will not support more than 3 GB RAM + VRAM e.g. 3 GB RAM + 670 (2 GB VRAM) because of 32bit limit and also no multithreading* and not more than 2 cpu cores*.
*work in progress but unsure if it can be improved
a super high end pc for TW is actually > USELESS due to technical limitations that have been stated by CA.
the only thing that boosts TW is a good CPU and high clockrate (GHz) up to 2 cores. also with a GFX like 570 SC (Average FPS: 46.925) or 670 FTW (Average FPS: 49.3375) you will not benefit because of CPU limitations.sorry to tell. save your money for something else
my rig with a EVGA 570 SC had nearly same FPS on Shogun 2 as with a 670 FTW on full details 8x AA and 1080p, while on other games and benchmarks the benefit of a 670 vs 570 is all way 40% in FPS

If you are going to wait until late 2013 I would look at getting the Haswell proc which is slated for release June-July 2013. As for the video card its best to wait until then to start looking. Personally I mostly buy Nvidia/EVGA video cards, if you want the best I would go for the GTX series for example 680 GTX I would stay away from the 60's and 70's unless there are budget issues. For ram and power supplies corsair products are my favorite but that is your choice. For the motherboard I would look at whatever boards that are rolled out for the haswell, I use mainly ASUS, EVGA, or GIGIBYTE.
This is a good place to start looking to get up-to-date on the latest hardware

Good rig for rome 2.
I7 Ivy 3770k
GTX 670 SLI
Quad Channel Memory
Seems good enough.
Thats my new build for rome 2.
Ask in a year. Jeez...
wow.. I'm surprised someone in Europe would even consider blowing 2000 euro on a new computer.
You wouldn't happen to be part of royalty would you? I mean it's not like the whole continent is collapsing or anything.
Oh I've said too much. tick tock tick tock![]()
Mate, I've heard something through the grapevine that Intel are building a new Quad-Core processor for late 2013/early 2014 something in the region of 4.5/5.0 ghz processor. Something to do with quantum computing or something, according to my Dad's mate who works at Intel in the US. I don't know much else kid but if I were you, I would sit it out and see what technology is going to be out just before or just after the game comes out cos you could spend a fortune on a fantastic gaming computer and it to be then overshadowed by something better.
Im going to wait until about a month before Rome 2 is released. Hardware is outdated so quickly so there is no point in looking now if something may cause the price to drop dramatically in future.
I would suggest the 3770k to beast this game easy its a very powerful cpu even at stock speeds its a good investment and haswell will only be a little faster i guess.
670 Single Card paired with the ivy 3770k can beast most games adding a second card is major overkill at the moment when rome 2 comes out you will be playing ultra silky smooth IMO.
Quad Channel memory just for lasting the future proof its always best to have the best memory memory lasts for ages.
Honestly forget haswell go with ivy next year save some money enjoy rome 2 on ultra settings if you go with the suggested build if you dont want the hassle of two cards then just get a 680.
Stop suggesting 670s... You want more VRAM. 7950 is the best budget card for TW games atm. Also, fast RAM and fast CPU are important as well. Very important. I've recently found out that RAM can speed up your game by as much as 3 fps. Comparing 27 fps to 30 fps, that's literally 10%. Even 57 to 60 frames is an entire 5%. Clock speed is also important. You can overclock an unlocked Sandy or Ivy to 4.0GHz easy. After that the benefit very quickly diminishes. All in all, stop suggesting Nvidia. They've always skimped on VRAM and they always will, and guess what you need more of in Total War?
I wouldn't wait for Haswell. A used Ivy and a decent mobo would save you tons of cash instead of buying a brand new, overpriced platform.
SLI will provide little to no benefit. It's not good sense to suggest 5-10% performance improvement when X79 is around 200-300$ more than Z77.670 Single Card paired with the ivy 3770k can beast most games adding a second card is major overkill at the moment when rome 2 comes out you will be playing ultra silky smooth IMO.

A 680 is a waste of money. Not enough VRAM and it costs 30-40% more for only 10-15% more performance. Like I keep telling everyone, stop only looking at Nvidia and try to see that AMD is a lot better with drivers recently, as well as letting you have a future proof GPU.
