firefox tips and firefox stuff

Ok, I have been having a problem. There is this feature that keeps ****ing me off in firefox. I have this quick search bar jump up every time i push the upper comma ( i cant write it or that bar pops up below the window). How do I get rid of it? Its driving me insane.

Also if you have any tips about improving firefox, please post it.

(and no, i dont wanna use internet exporer and for now i stay away from opera)

Are you talking about the "quick find" feature?

yeah, i cant type the upper comma now. it makes a "blooop" sound and instead of typing here , i end up typing into the search bar.

When you are typing text, like here and you press the ' button it shouldn't pop up. And if you want to get rid of it you just click on the little x on the left side of the tool bar.

The ' button only works if you're not typing something.

Yay it's not just me! Except it doesn't appear just when I press upper comma, it seems to happen randomly...

yeah, sometimes other brings it up. I tried closing it with the "x" button but , it didn't help. It popped up again. There must be an activator button I must push accidentally. (yay, i can type the comma again!!!)

my extention doesn't list any feature like this. I got forcastfox, chatzilla, and adblock filterset and no-scipt.

Archer, have you checked out the Firefox Tweak Guide from TweakGuides.com? It's pretty good.

Look in Tools Extensions in your Firefox menu...should find an extension/plugin there that's doing it. I had it on my other computer but I forgot the name of that extension...
