    Default Rome II - Dates?

I've looked but not found any information regarding the time frame covered by Rome II, does anyone know?

No one does. It has not been decided yet. It's seems from the end of the First Punic War to a not well-specified end of imperialism (maybe 285).

I'm guessing it will cover at least 400 years of history

The exact dates are unknown so far. But as it is a remake of the first game and similar themed about Roman expansion it can only be set between 280 BC (Pyrrhic War and conquest of southern Italy) and 117 AD (the widest spread but short-living expansion against the Parthian Empire). Plus as all remakes so far had not the exact same timeframe as the original game it will for sure not be 270bc to 14ad again ... it might be starting some years later and end some years later also.

I want multiple campaigns. but long ones, unlike NTW. I mean, I want Rome 2 to span as much of the ancient period that the Romans were present in as possible(I'd want 400BCE-400CE ultimately). I know that won't happen, but it would be good to have different campaigns to separate the ages. Greek period campaign. Roman Republican Campaign --> Early Imperial Campaign. Revolutionary Campaign. Barbarian Invasion Campaign. Fricken Sweet!

I see you there Jack Lusted! You're on our forums right now, so feel like letting slip some info????

Long span with ability to chose amount of turns per year would be best i feel, and they are probably going to make a whole range of different campaigns.. theres so much to pick from

Hmm. Probably 270 BC to 100 AD. With further expansion packs to follow. CA will want to capitalize on the Roman era as much as possible.

IMO it would be ideal (with that big new budget and no set release date) to go from 323 BC onwards to include the Diadochi on a more prominent scale, without watering down the Punic wars, Celtic migration in Europe etc

I know they've said "We wanna get the whole span of the Roman era" but that is pretty vague. Does it just mean republic-empire(which would be roughly 500 BC-450 AD) or will it include the roman kingdom aswell(750 BC - 450 AD)? Now the second option is a -really- long time period, 1200 years is a bit much i think, unless it's divided into several parts. Also there isn't that much known about the roman kingdom, but i don't see that being a big factor.

If i had to guess i'd say 300 BC- 200 AD, most certainly an expansion for 200-450 AD, possibly another expansion for kingdom period.

i like the idea of having separate grand campaigns from early middle to late eras of the roman empire though i would also be cool with expansions like in shogun like rots fots and shogun itself but for rome rise of rome, rome in power, then fall of rome... though this can focus too much only on rome and neglect the other factions but.... i just want an awesome game
