No pics/ loading screens

I just built a new computer and i when i downloaded rs2 and the 4 year script, i no longer have loading screens or picture of buildings in the details screen. For example, when i load the game i get the roma surrectum screenshot, the two videos and the main menu. then when i start a campaign (or load), the loading screen might flash for a split second but then the screen goes black with a white loading bar. I am still able to play the game and this isnt really a big problem, but i was just wondering what might be the problem.

Using rome total war, no BI and no Alex.
This happens to all campaigns i try and run.
Installation folder is C:\Total War

also would like to mention i cannot see my extended family. i only see about 3 different male characters when i should have well over 15.

I believe it's possible in RSII to have multiple ruling families - only one can be shown due to the way that the underlying game works.

I have the same problem
Sometimes the unit and building pictures shows just a white field and when I click around on the map, the pictures were shown correctly for a few times, but than disappeared again
