    Default Chavez gets re-elected

    The title says it all.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/vide...enezuela-video

It seems like an extremly close victory, and for that very fact it seems that the election wasnt rigged (that said its hard to know.)

Thoughts? Opinions? Personally I think it'll be a good wake up call for Chavez, he barely won this election so he'll need to get his act together and bring out some better policies if he wants to maintain his hold in power.

I personally am not sure if it wasn't rigged. He could've lost it and made it look like it was close on purpose, to make it look realistic. I hope this isn't the case though.

    But what do I know?

Re-re-reelected. Demagogic prick. While I don't belive the elections were rigged, I'm sure most of Chavez's votes were bought, populism at its finest.

Maybe he got re-elected because the sources that inform the outside of Venezuela world are a bit too eager to make him look bad? I don't know, just a thought. . . .

I check into small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell woman at desk I want a room. She tells me room number and give key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there." I take key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It comes from the room across. I cannot sleep so I open door. It is coming from room with no number. I pound on door. No response. I look in keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water still trickling. I go down to front desk to complain. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell story. There was woman in there. Murdered by her husband. Skin all white, except her eyes, which were red. I tell her I don't give a . Stop the water trickling or give me refund. She gave me 100 ruble credit and free breakfast. Such is life in Moscow

Emperor, then why did the opposition gain more votes than last election, while Chavez lost a large percentage of votes?

Well, to be honest I don't really trust the way votes are counted in my country [allegedly a democratic state], so I can't be sure at all about Venezuela of all places... Then again, if Chavez can do it, same applies for the US, Russia, etc.etc.

Chavez also controls much of his state's media, and STILL lost support compared to last time.

I don't think the election was rigged, I just think the majority of Venezuelans have a multitude of reasons to support Chavez, whether they actually like him or not.

Dunno why, he'll be dead in a year or two. His health problems are quite severe.
