will this mod work if I have Dartmod Installed

Hi Guys,

I finally took the plunge and tried to play this mod, but I still have the DMN on my files (although i activated it to vanilla settings)

I have followed the instructions given by the TGW team and it says I have successfully downloaded the mod.

However I can't play it and no icon of the game is coming on my desktop , just the folders icon with The great war.

What am i doing wrong?

There isn't (yet) a launcher for TGW, so there won't be a desktop executable. If it has correctly installed the user.script, you should just run through the napoleon.exe shortcut or via steam. If it doesn't work, check that your user.script has enabled the 4.5 pack (4.6 should be installed, but doesn't require activation) or use modmanager.

As to whether DM will interfere while in vanilla mode - I would guess no, but that's a question they can better answer.

Ok my bad, I was expecting a launcher, anyhows, I tried to launch the game via steam and it CTD when it starts to load.
I have now uninstalled and deleted DMN, and am reinstalling NTW vanilla just to make sure.

Just so I am doing this right (sorry I am a bit of a noob when it comes to this)......I downloaded the game from the link provided
I then extracted the file (I have both 7zip and winrar) to desk top.

Once there I clicked on the icon of TGW and initiated installation (which was only for 5 seconds or so - seemed pretty quick to me) it then says the Installation is complete....
but when I try to open the game via napoleon on steam, it crashes to desktop

any advise on what I might be doing wrong?

What I would do is just go and delete the entire Napoleon directory and re install the game and then mod after that. It may be a pain to do, but it gauntness that it'll work. It gives you a clean start.

Thanks for the help Frontiergame, already deleted the whole napoleon folder and re installing the game again now....will take a few hours to finish.
I take it the steps I took were correct then?

OK, here is where I am at.

AFter re-installing vanilla napoleon again (deleting all other mod files) i followed all t he instructions again....whenever I try to launch napoleon, it ctd. any ideas why?

Did you put the user script in the correct folder? Alternatively, download ModManager (see technical help thread link) and launch the mod the easy way.

What you mean do it manually? no I didn't, i thought it would be done automatically. :S
Arrghhh, this mod is quite advanced to do for a novice like me......modmanager? i will see what I can do....no one hhappens to live in Northolt, London by any chance

Also, do I have to look for modmanager for napoleon tw or the great war modmanager/ ISorry if it sounds noobish.....but what is modmanager?

ModManager for NTW, found in the NTW Mod Workshop under Tools & Tutorials. It isn't at all complicated, just helps you manage your mod packs.
