The Wedding of Niall Mallister and Alannys Greyjoy

Niall woke with the taste of sand in his mouth. He looked up to see a red haired old man with seaweed in his hair checking his breathing.
The Damphair himself. It is an honor.
Niall coughed and spat out a prodigious amount of salt water and looked around. He was sitting on the beach near Seagard in soaked robes. It took a moment for his hearing to return.
"What is dead may never die, but rises again harder and stronger."
The Drowned Men were chanting.
Niall got up, wincing as hundreds of tiny pebbles dug into his skin.
He accepted the blessing of the priest and went to change his clothes.
He returned with a fresh eyepatch, wearing a set of woolen robes of gray, trimmed with faded purple.
He began to await the arrival of the guests.

Seryne Goldenwood arrives on a small trading galley with the hopes of finding new trading partners within the Iron Islands.

Alys Manderly arrives looking sad and dejected. Shortly after Nabbo Dimittis arrives ready to watch the show Iron born weddings were amusing they always danced with the many faced god.

Niall walks over to her.
"Welcome, my lady. It is always a pleasure and an honor to see you."

Niall was rather annoyed by the look on Alys's face.
"Lady Alys. I would have let you know sooner but since I heard rumors that you began searching for a new marriage prospect when you heard I left for Nagga's Cradle, I thought perhaps there was no need."
He looks the Braavosi up and down.
"Welcome, my Essosi friend. I am Niall Mallister. Would you care to introduce yourself?"

Niall was rather annoyed by the look on Alys's face.
"Lady Alys. I would have let you know sooner but since I heard rumors that you began searching for a new marriage prospect when you heard I left for Nagga's Cradle, I thought perhaps there was no need."
He looks the Braavosi up and down.

Alys looks at here and turns away almost in tears her entire family dead and these accusations flung at her maybe she should of stayed home but her Maester said it would be rude to refuse the summons.
Nabbo moves forward .
"It is impolite to make a lady cry. I am Nabbo Dimittis son of the sea lord of Braavos."

Niall walks over to her.
"Welcome, my lady. It is always a pleasure and an honor to see you." "

Seryne smiles gracefully. "Lord Niall, it is an honour to be invited to the union of you and Lady Alannys, I know many of the highborn ladies will be weeping in their sleep while highborn men will scream aloud in fury over their lost chances. After your wedding we must talk some more, I have a proposal you may like."

The main members of House Tully arrive in Seagard - Lord Antin and Lady Lyra, with their eldest daughter and eldest son in tow, Emelyn and Edwin.

Niall bows to Nabbo.
"I am honored that the Sealord would send you to represent him at my wedding."
Niall greeted Lord Antin and his family.
"Lord Antin, I'm very happy that you could come."
Niall smiled at the rest of his family.
"Lady Lyra, you look wonderful."
He embraced his niece and nephew in turn, then turned back to his cousin.
"I am truly sorry I didn't inform you, there was very little time and I left in a hurry."

Nabbo just snorts and sits down next to Alys trying to comfort her

Antin seemed more than a little annoyed - quite unusual, he was normally a calm and jovial character. He took Niall to one side, out of earshot of his family, who were looking on with concern.

"You took half of the Riverlands fleet - my fleet - to the Iron Islands, without so much as a word. If we weren't related, I would probably demand that the King strip you of your Lordship where you stand."

Niall frowns. He pulls a piece of paper out of his pocket and hands it to Antin.
It reads:

I was wrong about you, my friend. If you do not return the ironborn shall wish their race died with black Harren.

"I could not wait for you to do your middle-aged-yet-still-quite-handsome-likeable-wise-lord routine while Fairhair usurped Greyjoy and began to raid my coasts and slaughter my people. If I were you I would not say such things so lightly, dear cousin."
Niall looks quite agitated.

Niall was quite frustrated now.
"And as a prudent, well educated lord, instead of asking the Lannisters, or the Greyjoys, or the king, you went and buried your head in the sand. Honestly, a rebel? An outlaw? Make no mistake, cousin, I have made some stupid, poorly thought out decisions."
He raised his eyepatch to show him the scar underneath.
"I payed dearly for them. I know that this one was not one of them."
He put the eyepatch back in its place.

"Oddly, it didn't occur to me that my own bannerman would contact the Lannisters or Greyjoys about his seemingly secret plot before me. As for the King, luckily, I recieved a letter from him soon after I heard that you and my ships were gone." Antin seemed genuinely saddened. "I do not want to make an enemy of you, Niall. In future, do not give me cause to do so."

By the Seven, what has happened to him? This can't be the same Niall who was urging me, only a few years ago, to defend against a percieved threat from the "hated" ironborn. He's marrying one of them! I would say that he listened to me when I told him the Greyjoys were my allies, but Niall was never did take my advice. The daughter of a Lord Paramount...this is about power, nothing else. I'll need to keep an eye on this one.

"I didn't inform either of them. Lord Dagmer sent a raven before the battle, and the Lannisters simply appeared with unknown intentions. You see, in the dungeons of the Red Keep, I learned a very valuable lesson. That enemies are everywhere, and you must make friends where you can. Noone is what he or she seems, and idiotic prejudice means death. And that some 'friends' will stand by and watch you be tortured, giving only a remorseful pat on the shoulder to your father. And later these 'friends' will show up at your wedding and tell you off for doing what was necessary, because they didn't have the means or motivation to do it themselves."
Niall hissed, barely audibly. He could not believe what he was saying, but seeing Alys and swallowing a pint of sea water had made him angry enough before his own cousin came to give him a lecture.

Antin sighed. "I am not claiming that you acted wrongly in sailing to fight Fairhair - on the contrary, I commend you for it. But ignoring your Lord and making off with his fleet is a rash move. Think of what it would have been like for me, when I found out my cousin had taken half of my ships and disappeared, to where, only the Seven know. I might have named you a rebel and an outlaw, if I had less faith in you."
