    Default After a battle

Like in Medieval2, do you think we should be able to choose what do do with the prisoners after a battle?

I'd think it would be a good feature, plus, extra source of income is good, especially if you pick up routing FMs. =)

I only released them if they were in small numbers just to keep my rep up ingame.

I've said this before, we should be able to keep the prisoners and ransom them later, but only if it's a general. Also, capturing the Heir of a faction should make them want to have peace. But of course I would execute him anyway.

Absolutely, but more than just that! Slaves should be an active commodity, or resource in the game. they played too big a role in ancient cultures to not have them included. they could even be representative of a class, which could lead to a revolt if certain circumstances aren't met (Spartacus anyone??). Furthermore, they could be used as rowers for ships, and a technology or upgrade or whatever could abolish this, representing the historical shift where the larger, more successful navies later used professional sailors to row their ships.

Well to put it simply. No. Slaves were NEVER used as rowers on almost ANY ancient warship. Rome, Carthage, Athens, Persia, Egypt, Rhodes, all paid professional rowers. Slaves were not used as galley slaves until much much later. Slaves were used to run some merchant ships but not as oarsman.

Sure we should capture routing units for subsequent ransom (if it's historically correct for this period), enslaving, execution or release. For ransom troops could be selected separately (e.g. you can choose to buy back your general and elite units but leave basic units to enemy’s will). Captured troops could be also kept imprisoned for quite long time and later used in diplomacy to exchange for your troops captured by enemy or release them as condition for ceasefire. But such imprisoned troops should decrease every turn depending on time speed of game.

Also with the salves you could train them to become gladiators and use them to battle in tournaments against other gladiators from city's like capula ect
