Carmarthen Castle

Carmarthen Castle, seat of Earl Harys of Wales
Carmarthen Castle was taken from the Welsh in the Anglo-Welsh war in 1166. It has been granted to Ser Harys Linnaugh, who became Earl of Carmarthen and had his name changed. Any and all visitors for the Earl should come to this stout building.

Harald Hitherto approaches Carmarthen Castle after days of travelling. He believes Earl Harys of Wales resides here but has doubts he will get an audience with him since the castle is a overwhelming sight. Harald waits outside in hope that he may be noticed.

One of the guards calls out to him. "Shoo, you there! Why are you standing around here doing nothing? Do it somewhere else!"

Harald shouts back
"Finally I am noticed! If I had an army this whole castle could have been beseiged! Why don't you let Earl Harys know I am here? This way I won't have to tell him his guards are slacking!"

The guard looked at his comrade, gave a massive shrug and went inside. After a few minutes, he came outside again. "The Earl will see you now. You will have to give me your weapons, they will be returned to you when you leave." The guard indicated for the man to follow him, and went to the great hall of the castle. There, Earl Harys sat, sipping on an ornate cup containing wine. "Who stands before me?"

"Stand, Harald. Why do you wish to speak to me?" Harys studied the man in front of him, looking at his arms and legs. It looked like he had done some heavy work, but he did not ride a horse a lot, Harys saw. The legs were straight as a candle. Must be a common worker, Harys decided.

"Sir, I am here as a commoner but I served as a brave warrior for the king once. Today, I ask if you would welcome me to fight for you"

"Hmm. Tell me, how old are you exactly, and how much experience do you have? You could make a good knight some day, i think, but i will have to take you as my squire first." Harys nodded, to no one in particular.

"I am 29 sir, served as a knight once but that honour was taken away. I would gladly be your squire." replies Harald.

Ooc; You can't have been a knight once. Only time you might be a knight-no-more is if the King has denounced and outlawed you. So i could not make you a knight again then.

"It might surprise you to know i was a commoner myself not very long ago. I do know the position you are in well, and i would take you in as my squire. Be warned though; i shall go on crusade to the Holy Lands within the year."

"Yes, actually. Get yourself outfitted properly from my armory, and find my fighting gear. Get my horse barded and saddled, and saddle one for yourself as well. We have received reports of Welsh stragglers near here, and we're going to put them down."
