[SOLVED] Can't reinstall shogun 2, STEAM is :wub:ing with me

This whole

started when I subscribed to a mod in the steam workshop and suddenly my game wouldnt start. I uninstalled and reinstalled, says my game is corrupted? And the funny thing is, when I want to reinstall steam tells me that I only nead 184MB of disc space for my reinstall? WTF? (I have removed both SHOGUN2 folders so I have no trace of shogun 2 on my computer which makes it all even funier...) What is happening? 184MB is not shogun's game files...

ha ha.. noticed what the 184MB is, its the soundtrack map with all the sounds...? Funny

Have you deleted the scripts folder and verified the game cache?
Do you have any other mods installed? They could be conflicting.

The thing is I deleted both shogun folders so I guess that includes the script folder.. I moved all the mods to another folder when i unistalled the game in the first place so it's clean of mods. What I'm trying to do now is I'm trying to reinstall shogun on my computer but when I do so all that's installed is the soundtrack files...

I guess it could be some error with steam workshop as I'm not sure if the map pack I downloaded ever installed before I unistalled shogun in the first place.

Can't verify as the game is not installed..

Have you restarted Steam since? It's solved it for others.
Have you restarted your computer? It could be something hung in RAM.

Yes, I've done both.. But now when pressing install atleast it wants to install 791MB as opposed to 184MB... still a lot less than shogun's 20gb... I really dont understand what went wrong. As I said, it started when I subsrcibed to a mod in steam workshop which made my game unplayable which made me uninstall steam and try to reinstall..

I subscribed to the Workshop and my Shogun2 works.
Something to try in case something is hung in the registry. Delete all tracs of Shogun2, again, run a good, free registry cleaner, reboot, then try it.
I'd hate to have to resort to the regedit way.

How do I do to be sure that i delete all tracs of shogun 2? Any tips for a good registry cleaner? I'll try first tomorow morning!

I only know of the two Shogun2 folders you know about. I hope there is nothing else hidden.

Well, no, still same problem. It only wants to download 791MB of files when I'm trying to install...... It seems I can install shogun 2 completely on my laptop using steam. Could this help in any way?

Have you deleted the clinetregistry.blob an d the other .blob?

Try to install the tools from Games>All Games>Tools and select Assembly Kit and TEd.

I've read that there's somewhere mixed up when the Assembly Kit is released.
