Hi,
I read in the RR/RC submod topics that weaponsmiths give +7 attack instead of its advertised +2. Can someone please explain to me how the mechanics are which does this?
Thanks!

I think what you read was the fact that a weaponsmith boost that is shown ingame as +2 actually works as if it was a +7. Something to do with the formula for damage not working as intended.
It's hard-coded. One thing is the displayed stats, the other is the actual effects.
It's the same with armour upgrades. They display 1 additional armour on the unit card, but the actual effect is actually 2.5 additional armour pr upgrade.
This is hardcoded into the game core, and is not something we can change, unfortunately.
The Swordsmiths' Guild bonus is shown as +1, not 2. The mechanics are that CA screwed up.
Yeah...how did they screw it up?
They either wanted it to give +1 and ended up making it give +6, or they wanted it to give +6 and wrote +1. Same with the armour upgrades.
I would love some stats shown from the ingame files to support this.
I recommend (re)searching this forum on the previous discussions and tests on this subject. Especially the RR/RC subforum should be of interest.
I'd expect all the fighting calculation to be encoded (hardcoded) in the exe - and this is where the sheep hits the fan afaik.
Don't just look at the stats - look at the results of battles with armour upgraded units vs non armour upgraded ones. Let a unit with armour upgrades fight against a stock unit with "stats" that should be on the same level and so on.
