of course, the Israeli police does what he wants in Jerusalem, but perhaps it would have been smart, that if there were to be policemen outside a mosque the day of prayer, these were maintained remotely or dressed as civilians. It is always easy that a dozen people oppressed by a state feel provoked.

You know how many catholic churchs are builded in spain over muslim mosques? (Well, I dont really know, but a lot ). You can not appeal to history. I can not imagine the United States returning territories (or sacred places) to Native American.
I think both should pray there, and i think they do it.

What lies? This happens far too often and really it should be under Jewish Control since they allow access to all religions, whereas the Muslims will deny it to those whom the please, as we have seen in the past. Even in the 1800's Jerusalem was majority Jewish and back then Jerusalem was just the old city, which is in the eastern part of the modern city, which is currently under "Palestinian" control. Before that it was under Jordanian control and under their control many historical Jewish sites of worship were destroyed without anyone doing any thing. We know what happens under Muslim control, which is why I agree with the OP. Don't forget that Gaza Strip once had a thriving Jewish population, but now there are none and yet we don't here anything about that.

I think anyone of any faith would attack someone they felt was stealing their land and forcing them to live without running water several days a week.

Lol, Jews were not the majority of Jerusalem's population prior to it's annexation after the 1967 war. The Wikipedia article you just posted shows that, they might have formed a plurality sometime during the 1940's depending on how many Christians identified themselves as Palestinian, but never a majority. And that's only because the Ottomans and the British allowed hundreds of thousands of Jews to settle from around the world, in other words, they were not natives.

EDIT: I made a mistake, according to the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry Jews made the majority in 1944; Jerusalem's Jewish population more than tripled from 1922 to 1944. They formed less than half of the city's population in 1922.
