Kataphraktoi κατάφρακτοι reforms

Firstly sorry, I have posted similar thread before but cannot for life of me remember where

What I hope to solve here is a reform for Seleukid bodyguards along with the Kataphraktoi reforms- it my understanding from my studies that Antiochos III reformed much of his cavalry including ἑταῖροι hetairoi and the Median Agema.
So what I would like is some kind person to point me to the files that would allow me to do this. Please!!!

Perhaps I wasn't clear! All I want to do is when the Seleukids get Kataphractoi reforms... their Somophlakes are upgraded too- like the Bakrians.

About the Somatophylakes, i don't know if they change after the march of time (Romans build a huge city in Italy, except Rome), as the Baktrians do. But if they change, they change after this (i guess).

Sorry misunderstanding again. I know about reforms, but I wanted to change Seleukid Somophlakes to Kataphraktoi as the Bakrians do...because it is my understanding that Antiochos III reformed most of his heavy horse this way

Apologies for Sorry double post and post revival.

So, can nobody point me to the files- to be able to have Kataphractoi body guards for Arche Seleukia. All I want is when the AS adopt Kataphractoi their bodyguards should reform also.
please could somebody just point me in the right direction.

you would have to mess around with the export_descr_bodygaurds or something to that effect but I dont think it is possible without giving the model to seleucids which i dont think they currently have. you can check the workshop on how to give a model to another faction but Its difficult for me anyways and I think the models are at max on EB.

an alternative would just be to role play as the baktrians and pretend you are a new dynasty trying to save the empire from being taken over by those damned Parthians.

make a copy of your edu in case you screw up

1. export_descr_unit.txt --open it.
2. "find" "hellenistic cavalry hellenikoi kataphraktoi" or ;186
3. "copy" lines from dictionary to stat cost
4. "find" "hellenistic cavalry generals bodyguard 2" or ;522
5. "replace" those lines for the bodyguards
6. add general_unit, to the attributes line
7. save. play. destroy.


or you could just change mount to the kataphract mount then adjust stats accordingly

uhh ... oh yeah, I forgot something you have to change the dictionary line,too. replace the bodyguard one with the kataphract one, sorry about that bud.

Well I didn't quite do what I had in mind but I have the Kataphraktoi horses and Somophylakes riders...so looks the business. I have made a copy of EDU so when I get the reforms I will change the Somophylakes
