Menus glitched, missing letters

Hello,

I just purchased Shogun 2 through Steam (as the entire game pack with Rome, Medieval 2, etc.), and I have yet to be able to play.

On the title screen, intermittently things look okay, though every time I go to start a SP campaign, the 'F' in "Fall of the Samurai" is missing. I wanted to try and change my graphical settings, but that page is literally unusable. The text is all jumbled and all over the screen. I can't even find the cancel button, so I've been force quitting the application.

What are my first steps in troubleshooting this? I've verified the game cache, my hardware should be compatible, the opening movie plays, though it was choppy for the first minute or so. I'm unsure of how to collect screenshots while in-game; it's grabbing my desktop for some reason.

Any help is appreciated.


System specs:
Intel Core i5 3570k
16GB DDR3 memory
Nvidia GTX670 driver version 301.42
DirectX 11 (is what I had it set to while installing)
It's running on an SSD, if that makes any difference. I don't see why it would...

I appreciate it. How do I take a screenshot? I can post some in here to show what I'm talking about. Print screen is just grabbing my desktop.

You can try using Fraps, it's a free software (usually), and you can always use black sails (if you know what I mean).

It help you take screenshots as well as record framerates.
