Default If (play_music) then player != iTunes endif

    Sad geeky title

OK, so I have no ipod and I don't want one. I have a load of music that is in iTunes but originally saved as AAC.

The only thing In want is to put some music as mp3 onto an SD card that I can play in the car (very nifty!) so I can convert everything to MP3 on iTunes and use that.

However, as I don't use iTunes store, iPod or indeed anything else Apple, does anyone else use another player that can import iTunes libraries and convert them to mp3, and have the same kind of functionality? I don;t want or need fancy crap, I just want to play my music and put them on SD's if I want to easily.

So as the title says, if I want to play music, any recommendations for a player other than iTunes?

I have encountered this problem before and used this:

Works fine for one shot, just save stuff in .mp3 from now on.

Ah, well that is handy. Thanks.

I know I can convert in iTunes itself, but what I was wondering additionally is if anyone has completely moved from an iTunes solution to another, or indeed if they have never used iTunes and happily use another player anyway? Ideally, I'd like to have my music in one place as mp3's that can I could play in windows or in linux.

    +rep though

I use Zune player, obviously it won't work on Linux, but I never listen to music on Linux. Maybe something like XBMC will work for you? They have a release for every major OS, and ARM support.

Well linux is not essential tbh. I was looking at Media Monkey but will check out a few others too.
