Thank you all for your comments and support. We really appreciate them. We feel this is going to be a rather special mod for a much under-represented time-frame of Roman history.

Good question here, I hope the map will more like RTW's map, more Italian cities.....the Empire in the III century was still similar to the Empire of the II century, the provinces were the same of the times of Augustus until the time of Diocletianus so.....

At this stage we intend to use a different map. I'll have more to say at a later date.

Yes, yes,....this is an important information, Augustus!

Meanwhile, I would present you my doubts about the change in the provinces before and after diocletianus' Reforms.....all changed, but not the great consular ways, the cities and the forts.....only the borders changed.

Now in an old magnificent Italian mod of RTW called Mare Nostrum, to pass from the map pre 100 AD, to the map post 100 AD, you had to do this simple thing: You exited from the game, then you went in the RTW main folder and in the folder of the maps you found the map post 100 AD, then you simply charged it, and....then you launched the game, and....you was in the new map without losing your previous campaign! Simple and quick! No great problems and not many scripts! What do you think, Caesar?

I ask because, the passage to the Diocesis with their different borders could be really a nightmare to mod? Am I wrong?

Sounds interesting. Can you give me a link or post a screenshot.

Also best to make a new thread on this.

Good to hear, looking forward for news on that subject!

Anyway, I think Caligula Caesar's new map for Fortuna Orbis would be perfect to also give room to Blemmye\Berber tribes, without losing space for Indians and Kidarites or whatever factions will be out there..of course with some adjustments, because north Africa, Britain and Ireland have too few regions and Sicily and Greece have too many!

Sadly I haven't any screenshot, because I played the Mod a long time ago, but here is the link to Mare Nostrum, it was fro RTW 1.2 and it was really a good work, sadly they did not ported it to RTW 1.5.

Link to the Mod 'Mare Nostrum': http://www.marenostrummod.altervista.org/

Maybe in the next days, I'll try to open a new thread about the subject, the change between the regions of Augustus and the new Diocesis of the Reforms of Diocletianus is one of the most important events of the Late Antiquity, probably the turning point, even because the new Diocesis were closely linked with the changes in the structure, dimension and organization of the Late Roman Army and probably this was also the turning point for the global change of Strategy during the Late Empire.

That seems like a really good mod Diocles. It's a shame for the English speakers though that it is in Italian, because probably all the instructions will also be in that language. Perhaps you could translate?

The idea of switching maps mid-campaign is indeed very appealing!

can t wait for the mod to be ready !

also it would be a good idea to team up with the Roma Surrectum team for graphics

well I think they already use RS 2 environments and the bloom (ENB series) can be added if the dev team really wanted to. (But you can add them yourself too)

No, it is not dead, just taking time due to real-life stuff.
