Is it just me, or is it better to see people speak their actual languages, even if we don't understand them.

All this "Americanization" of products is going too far. Just let them speak their languages and keep the advisers in English or whatever language the product is.

Ah yes, a brilliant idea. One question though, how many people do you know who can speak Gallic? Because I must remind you, it's a language completely different from Gaelic and older too. And having it would be more important than Latin by virtue of having that many more Gallic tribes than Roman factions. We'll also need some people who can speak Phoenician, proto-Germanic, Scythian and all its dialects, Iberian, Dacian, Egyptian, Parthian, and more. Also Vulgar Latin, because the commoners of Rome didn't speak that fancy Latin you're used to. Neither did the upper class actually, Classical Latin sounds completely different from how you probably think it sounds. So unless you want your troops addressing you as "Kaiser" you should probably rethink this one.

Kaiser? By that do you mean the MORE phonetic way of pronouncing Caesar in Latin? ([kaysar], more or less) or did you mean about the Germanics?

I was referring to the more phonetic way of pronouncing it. Everyone thinks it's "see-zer", so imagine the shock when they hear a more accurate pronunciation. And imagine the flood of threads from people angry at how CA made their soldiers speak German.

Please stop posting these threads, Jack Lusted has already said that everything will be in English, if you're English, French if your French etc. in the Use of Latin thread.
