"Problem checking Steam application"

Alrighty then.

1. Installed RS 2.0 into a seperate folder, copied to Rome Total War Gold.
2. Repeated with RS 2.5
3. Loaded up launcher
4. Chose my settings
5. "Problem checking Steam application"

I tried the properties with the launch options too but that didn't seem to work either...help is appreciated

Sort of fixed it....the game now loads through the launcher although I'm not getting a black screen with a bit of green in the top left hand corner while the soundtrack plays?

Edit: Nevermind...fixed it again I think . I guess I was trying to enable the bloom without reading how to do it properly...disabled the bloom and it's now working.

Yes - sounds like bloom to me.
