Default Some info from over at CA's "Jobs" section

This didn't really fit into any of the 2 sticky's, and i found it abit interesting.

    http://www.creative-assembly.com/jobs/

The 2 interesting ones are "Games tester(Total War) and "Additional Content Designer". What's interesting about them? On "Games tester" it says "You must be ready to start in December 2012" - possible indication of an Alpha starting in December?

The "Additional Content Designer" says "This is a fixed contract until August 2013" - release in August 2013, maybe? If the inhouse alpha starts in December and it releases in August, that would give them 8 months for an alpha + beta which sounds about right.

It's not alot of info and ofc it's not 100% certain - but it could finally shed some light on the release date CA have been really vague on.

Well, if you made a game that ended with 70+ critics on metascore then you may be enlistable! Otherwise you can go back to your burger flipping at McDonalds...

CA have stated that Rome 2 will be released among the commoners next year

Interesting. They might end the testing phase in August of 2013, but that does not mean ti will be released then.

August 2013, you do realise that once they release the game there will be bugs, fixes, patches to release, they can't just leave the game at release. Therefore they will need people still to work for a few months after release to fix any problems.

Ha, I'm happy enough to see the game release though its may be bugs to be fix after that

Just want to see how the game came out that what I want now

Also, I want to see if the game optimized for better performance more than most Total War Game until now

Patch later is acceptable, I will die waiting if they not!
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.

Quite a lot of time passes between games finishing alpha and beta testing, games going gold and then release. This is like movies - for example the Hobbit has already finished shooting, IIRC, we'll see the first part this December, then the second part one year from now and the third in 2014.

i spotted jack.... i should get a cookie but, to answer the question, i think CA should take their time to get things done and it'll be awesome if they continue with their policy of releasing games on march so we can get it early but if they think it wont be done till 3024 then by all means take your time..... just release it complete and awesome

If they're making this contract until August 2013 because the contract is for the remainder of Rome 2's development then it will be until the game goes gold, not until the game is on the shelves, putting the release date they're shooting for as September 2013.

It says: "Additional Content Designer", what is another word for additional content that is not there from start (otherwise it would be content and not additional content)? That's right: DLC. So they are looking for a DLC-designer.

Congratulations you just confirmed that there will be DLCs.

Testing in August 2013? Hmm I don't think so as there will be no possibility to release in 2013. I more think that They will take an additional man until August to work on new content as the game is releasing..

True. So in August they will be probably not working on the main game but on the fixes and other things it could need.
