~~~~--------Hey guys its necrontyr/evildeathbone here--------~~~~
Some of you peeps may or may not remember me from my review of this mod a while back
Anyhow, with my new PC, and after buying a new copy of RTW after my original was lost/broken/TPed to oblivion
So i thought, what better to do then to Download Roma Surrectum again and do a complete campaign game
If you want me to do a specific move/strategy/suicide or just wanna say something, post a comment and leave your feedback you lovely people (except you, you know who you are)
Do you play 1 or 0-turn?
Anyways, I'd say play a "civilised" faction, there are just more buildings and units to them. So I say go with any Greek state, Macedon, Carthage or Rome!
If you would like: easier; simpler; less thought; and lots and lots of battles - then go for 0turn.
If you would like a deeper, more meaningful and challenging game that blends strategy and tactics in a robust and rather nice representation of a historically-based 'what if' scenario, then 1turn should be for you.
But that's just me - each to his own.
Equally, play: Large Units; 45min timer left on; and no 'tweaks' - it will be a good challenge. Don;t worry about some of the little details, but enjoy the overall result.
"RTW/RS VH campaign difficulty is bugged out (CA bug that never got fixed) and thus easier than Hard so play on that instead" - apple
RSII 2.5/2.6 Tester and pesky irritant to the Team. Mucho praise for long suffering dvk'.
I agree, do the Seleucids. I can help you with them, as I know quite a lot about their traits, history etc. I was doing (will be doing) research on them for RSII team.
The Seleucids will make for an interesting choice, especially in a one-turn campaign.
However, I wonder how many LP's are out that cover a minor faction. I wouldn't mind seeing Syracuse, although it looks like that campaign is 0-turn only so I'm guessing that unit spam will be essential if you're going to survive.
Either faction will be good to see IMO but definitely Seleucids one-turn if you go for a major nation.
Glad to hear there will be another RS2 LP, not enough recent ones IMO.
For goals, I would suggest the destruction of the following factions:
Pergamon: They're actually a rebellious faction in opposition to the Seleucids so it would make sense to want to bring their lands back under your control
Ptolemies: Long time enemies and a constant thorn in your side if you don't deal with them at some point
Macedon: The true prize as a successor nation would be the reclamation of the Macedonian kingdom
You might want to knock off a faction if the campaign goes on too long for you but I think they're all doable.
