I dont know about anyone else on here, but I for one hope with a burning intensity that CA don't include any American accents in Rome 2. I'm not having a go at Americans here, but in Rome 1 it kinda lost its edge having Romans as American accented soldiers and advisors etc, it almost ruined the feel of the game for me, especially considering if youre making a game about a 2000 year old Italian Empire that embraced many EUROPEAN, AFRICAN and ASAIN regions, where the living hell did the American accent come from? 1800 years or more in the future apparantly.
If you notice, the vast majority of successful historic war films, usually only the cheesy ones use American accents, in Troy for example, the few American accents there are completely ruin the feel of the film for me, as American accents seem simply too corny to get away with for something of this type (thanks to the dominant position in the modern entertainment industry), possibly because America wasn't discovered untill 600 years ago and wasn't even a nation untill 240 years ago. Moreover the proper "standard" English seems to suit, as accentless as possible (more upperclass British) or much rather a proper old Latin style lingo (like in Shogun 2, they all speak Japanese bar the advisors)
PLEASE NO MORE AMERICAN ACCENTS!!! THIS IS NOT AN UNDERBUDGET HERCULES EPISODE!
