Default The Philosopher's Stone Quest. A bed time story by Evangelina Silver.

It was a fine morning in the School of Hogwarts. The Sun was shining, but not all too brightly as to make Evangelina need to cover her eyes in order to see well enough to walk. She appreciated the subtle warmth coming from the Sun, almost soaking the rays in like a plant. Winter was full of too many dull days. Evie longed for the colors that she knew existed underneath the blanket of snow. There was so much color in the world. And there exists beautiful colors in things that one would not normally look at for.

The paths on the grounds were well worn by now. The snow had been moved to the sides, or melted by the ever annoyed Filch. Evie still wore her knee high waterproof boots, just in case. She always hated to be in a situation where she was prepared to get a little dirty. That is why she hardly ever wore ‘delicate’ clothes. Those kinds of clothes were pretty, yes, but grass stains and she spend so much time by the lake that wearing pretty clothes would be a waste..

The day was Saturday. And it was mighty refreshing to have a nice break. Evangelina had a little spot of 'shopping' that she wanted to get done today, for something might come up in the next coming week or maybe even today. She really hoped that something would come up, for her own sanity’s sake. It seemed like she had not really gotten anywhere since she started searching. Evie was generally good at getting the things done that needed to be done, but she wanted her day to last. It was such a nice day! She had promised herself to enjoy the weather today.. and so she had. Now back to the dusty and dark Library where her search would continue. She had been looking so incredibly much for this item, months now. Since she found the first piece of clue(Mod Decides) she had been filling every gap in her study time with the search of this one item.. She had ended up in the Library.. And there she would continue.. The reason for the walk today was that she had almost seen nothing of the spring due to this search. Now that it had been done she returned to the library.. How she missed the lake at times.

The first clue Evie had saw was on the chocolate frog cards, Dumbledore's to be exact where it mentioned it. Afterward she had been intrigued as to what this stone did and started searching for clues on that.

    Nicholas Flamel?
"Considered by many the greatest wizard of modern times, Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the Dark Wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragons blood, and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel. Professor Dumbeldore enjoys chamber music and ten-pin bowling."

That is useless, shed know about him the first day. And it does not lead anywhere at all. I'd like a result from what I wrote, not an explanation of what had already happened. Surely months of study must have brought me on some trail or something more than who managed to create it last time. I'd rather spend all the RP time on the journey and finding it rather than the study on how and where to start. Clues I can pursue please ^^

Okay, but what are you searching for about it? Harry, Hermione, and Ron spent months looking for things about the Philosophers Stone and found nothing. I don't even know where you are in the library to look.. Anyway unless you want to wait until I get back from school (approx. 5 PM GMT) then grab another mod.

Also, they didn't have any leads till Nicholas flamel came up.

That is because they didn't look the most obvious place, remember? Also after potter I'd think there'd be a lot more.. Attention given to the stone-.

No response so lets get on it. I am assuming you don't have restricted section so this may still not satisfy but it is the best I can think of at the current time...

Evie's long hard months were paying off, albeit slowly and with hit or miss results. Her first clue in this line of events had been a story about Harry Potter and the part where they found out what the philosophers stone was. She was hooked after this, a way to live forever so long as only natural causes chased her and infinite wealth so long as she had minerals around her. What a sweeter pot could anyone ask for? It was because of this she started her long research, first with hours, then with days, and finally with weeks and months of spending every free opportunity to search for a way to obtain or make this stone.
All of her research was slow going though, she looked in the right books and found the proper references but everywhere the only known Philosopher's stone had been made by Nicholas Flammel and he was now deceased. Some of the books hinted that it may be an elaborate potion, others that it came from a secret source, and yet others said that a mysterious being gave the stone to those that were deserving. None agreed though and none gave a recipe for a potion or a map for a source.

    Better?

Well, he had gotten it oer made it, and an Wizard of his experience would not be allowed to take them with him in his death, his memories would have to be stored somewhere. As she arrived at the library this day she decided to look up places where such memories could have ended up being stored, here on Hogwarts with his friend Dumbledore... Or Another place? She started researching this,.

Looking through all the books on memories and storage she found out that most people stored memories with close friends or relatives if they found them that important and that very few memories were stored in a public type place. Although one book that was quite, conspiracy-y mentioned a place in the hall of Justice under the Ministry of Magic that was behind a black door... They said that memories pertaining to significant discoveries for the magical community may be contained there...

Well, then Evie started to prepare. she worked fast, placed the helpful books back in their places. And started to look for some on how to actually read these memories- plus a book on advanced potions. After that she went to her common room Looking for: Ashley. (Rosen, would you mind joining in here for a short time? )

She finds a book on magical objects that have many uses that mentions an object used for just this and about five books on advanced potions.

She read long and hard trying to find what she needed. The potions books were long and not very inviting.

OOC: Will just RP the potion books for now, the other one can wait until later seeing as I could go on and on.

Evangelina Silver always felt as if there was something odd about her. She didn't look abnormal, unless one counted bushy silver hair and a rather small stature for her age. Maybe it was the lack of interaction with children her age? Instead of playing with the students flicking spells at each-other on the grounds, Evangelina would often plead with the Professors in order to get them to help her practice, new spells or homework.

If it wasn't her lack of social skills maybe it was her thirst for knowledge? Evangelina loved to read, she enjoyed settling in with a good book whether it involved sailing on a ship filled with a raucous band of pirates or learning more about a particular spell. She liked to learn about faraway places, kings and queens, ancient artifacts, even how to cook. But it never seemed to be enough, there seemed to be something that nagged at the back of Evangelina's mind. Sometimes it felt as if there was more to learn, logically Evangelina understood that she hadn't learned everything, but there seemed to be a particular subject that she felt was desperately needed for what awaited her later in life. Maybe it was that feeling, a feeling of something missing that seemed odd, what eleven year old girl thought these things?

She turned the page. Her attention peaked. This seemed interesting. An explorer wizard had in the fifteenth century made a charm that could point him towards what he was seeking. Much like the widely known charm that made you wand point north. Does not work with people. She read about it. Seemed simple enough, there existed so many spells. Evangelina, loved it.

A quarter later she stood out on the grounds, letting the winds blow through her white hair. She enjoyed the feeling. The feeling of the wind yes. But also doing something. This silent and lonely hunt.. Was purposeful. She felt tranquil in this purposeful loneliness. She rested her wand in her palm. Looked at the books instructions once more closed it, placed it on the ground.

She stood up and swung her wand right, then left in a C form as if to try and draw a dawning sun in the air. She drew it back and pointed it at the fake horizon she had draw, in the middle. She chanted the incantation, and placed the wand on her palm.

OOC: Checking because half of that writing seemed random, good back story, but random.

When she cast the spell she didn't feel a pull of any kind. No direction or route seemed to pull at her at all. The reason for this was because an object so magically powerful as this was protected many times over by enchantments against spells of this type. Although there was disappointment at the spell not working, it wasn't that great because most objects this powerful were protected in someway. It was worth the try at least...

Now Evie needs to figure out another way of finding the item. Be it finding a potion and making it, if there is such thing, or finding the source of where the stone originates and getting one.

OOC:It is not random! It is a long search, how a eleven year old can stay concentrated needs explanation thus what i wrote above!

She sat down, she was not dissapointed at all, yes it would have been nice if it had worked, but she did not really expect it to.. She plucked a small flower and looked at it. Oh well she thought it can help with something else at least. She looked at the wand resting in her hand. Well back to plan A. Wit the wand still resting in her palm she repeated the spell, now looking for the memories of it's creator.
