Default Hunting a rat (Harold Sexton)

    Harold Sexton
An informant on the activity of Dark Wizards. He should be eliminated to send a clear signal to would be informants to stay away from the ministry.

William, with his new seat of power in the Ministry, saw a lot of information pass by, both official and unofficial, but this was something he felt had to be taken care of. An informant could, if on the right track, find out about William's past relations with the Death Eaters, something he didn't want to come out just yet.

A cold night in Knockturn Alley, a figure in a dark cloak sneaked around. William had found information on where the informant and his handler would meet, and the location fitted him perfectly. The alley was like a second home to him, its darkness a perfume for his mind. He snapped out of his euphoria and focused on what would come. All he had to do was to wait.

The Alley was strangely active this night, people walking to and fro. The darkness filled with activity and all kinds of misfits walking talking, drinking, laughing but none really stood out. It could be anyone, two people looking the part in this place.

William stood there for an hour, but he didn't see any of the handler or the informant he was looking for. He went to a local pub and sat down to gather his thoughts. Harald had given his Department info on the Dark Wizards before he became its head, but he had been able to send the regular handler on another mission and replacing him with a green Auror. She had handled it for a month or so, but William felt time was running short. He took out a photograph of the Auror. She was pretty young, but had been an excellent addition to the force. She had one flaw though; her reaction time to surprise attacks was slower than other experienced Aurors, something perfect for this job. He turned around and gazed around the pub, checking if she was there.

After a quarter or so he spotted her, she was hiding very well in plain sight under another identity. She had used spells to make her face look aged and sat at a table looking like a old worn backstreet shop worker that had worked late hours a good too many times. This worn looking women had company , there they sat talking merrily, her eyes had a well played worn look to them and her smiles and additions to the conversation seemed as if she was bitter and worn worker, unhappy with her life, yet trying to have a good night with an friend here at the tavern tonight. It was a good play, one that would have deceived better men than William. William knew her though, he recognized the way she adjusted her glasses and placed her hair behind her ear.

William looked from tue young Auror to the man she was chatting with. A man in his forties, with a cloak covering him, as if he wanted to hide himself. That must be him, William thought to himself. He payed for his drink and left the pub. He then stood out in the street and waited for the man to come out.

After an hour or so the man came walking out, whistling a merry tune.. And it'd be a lie to say he was walking straight.

William followed the man as he walked through the streets. Not so hard to shadow, he thought to himself. Not too hard to get rid of the man either. The man walked into a small, dark alley and up to a door, fumbling with his keys. William readied his wand, concealing it under his cloak. He took a few steps forward, now only a couple of meters from the man.

    Harald Sexton?

It was a great surprise when the man turned around quite fast for a man in his condition.

OOC: I think that my target has specific stats. The diffculty 5/10 plays a part though. And I think you can do the roll Narf as you're the mod for this quest. If not, someone please do the roll.

ooc: Joker and I are going to restart this from the beginning, but we should probably do some Pre-RP so our characters at least know eachother

ooc: Let's assume we've tracked him to Hogsmeade.

Atticus apparated in the small village of Hogsmeade. He had been tracking an elusive yet damaging informant with connections to dark wizards in Britain. He had recently informed on one of Atticus' friends, leading to his imprisonment. He must be punished for that. Still, the man could be anywhere in the village, or hiding in the forest. Whatever the case, Atticus decided to enter the Hogs Head for a butterbeer to deliberate. Snow was falling and the pub always offered a warm sanctuary.

William Indorus had, with his position as head of Magical Law Enforcement, found out about Harald Saxton, an informant that seemed to have a bit too much information for his own good. If he found about William's past, his next home would be a cell in Azkaban. So before that, Harald had to die.

William arrived in Hogsmeade, the last known hideout of the informant. But that was all he knew. Sexton was a very cautious man and hadn't told the Ministry exactly where in Hogsmeade he was hiding. It would be like fiinding a needle in a haystack, William thought. As a precaution, he had used a potion to make himself a bit rounder and had given him long, black hair and a rough beard.

He went to the Hog's Head and ordered some meade. I have to start somewhere, he thought to himself. He turned to the bartender.

Excuse me, sir. I am seeking a man that recently arrived here. I don't remember his name, but he isn't from these parts. Perhaps you can help me out.

Atticus' ears perked up as he overheard William's question. He turned around and sized the man up. He was obviously a ministry man, he carried himself with an air of importance. Standing, Atticus went moved closer to the bar, eventually taking a seat next to William as the bartender was fixing his drink.

    You're looking for Sexton.
