Why won't my crusades expansion unistall?

The crusades expansion is completely removed from my computer,yet it still shows up in my control panel and on the game start up menu. However, I cannot play it even though it appears on the start up menu because it is simply not installed. Also, Since it already shows up as installed I cannot reinstall it and play. Any ideas of what I can do?

Run a good free registry cleaner and see if it removes it.
