(Proposal) Discworld RPG
Would anyone be interested in a Discworld RPG? It could be set in Ankh-Morpork after Ridcully becomes Chancellor.

Depends what MemduhG was thinking. I would be glad to help him, I have read a few of the disc world books and watched a few on TV.

I'd gladly join, but only if I can be in the Watch

Re: (Proposal) Discworld RPG
Sure, I'm thinking we could mostly use a modified GSTK structure for the rolls and skills, add in a Guild System with all of its participants vying for power, the guilds themselves trying to control the city, and the Patrician doing his best to hold the city together with the help of the watch.

Re: (Proposal) Discworld RPG
You really will be pleasantly surprised, the books are wonderful.
I had 5 factions in mind, excepting the palace
Assassins Guild
Thieves Guild
Unseen University
The Watch
Mr. Chrysoprase
Of course, new guilds can be made accessible if there are enough requests.
The Thieves' Guild is exactly what it sounds like, licensed burglars. You can pay a yearly fee not to be robbed, otherwise they can rob you legally. The Guild takes half of the profits, which may be rather unfair to the hardworking thieves, but it is quite merciful compared to the Guild's policy of nailing the ears of unlicensed thieves to their knees.
factions are WIP

What about the Downer Dwarves or whatever they're called? They had a pretty big influence over Ankh-Morpork

Re: (Proposal) Discworld RPG
If enough people want to play them, why not? Quaffing ale and singing about gold doesn't seem like something fun to RP about.
Mr. Chrysoprase is the city's most prominent criminal. He tends to hang around meat freezers not only for the obvious reasons, but also because the cold accelerates the mental capabilities of trolls.
Mr. Chrysoprase is one of the only people who can protect aspiring criminals from the grip of the Thieves' Guild, so if you are a burglar with his/her sights set on loads of profit, he's the troll to find.
The disadvantage of this particular guild is that the Watch is constantly breathing down their necks, and while the Thieves' Guild may be afraid to touch them, Commander Vimes has no such reservations.
