A Clandestine Duel

[Pyrrhus the Molossian]

Lance invites Dom to a deserted classroom forgotten about by almost all the teachers and staff. It is coated in a layer of dust. Lance opens the door creeps in and waits for Dom. The room is near the dungeons deep under the school. Formerly a classroom for the teaching of Potions hundreds of years ago it lies forgotten. Old desks and several rusty cauldrons fill the room. Lance had managed to stumble inside one night returning from the Great Hall. He had entered the room after seeing Peeves go inside. Peeves was not present but Lance kept the classroom's location inside his head for later uses. He had now returned realizing it the perfect place for a covert duel. And so he waited.

ooc: Changed the thread title to something less...formulaic? Additionally, let's make the OP a bit more orienting than this. How did the message get conveyed? Where is this classroom? How did Lance find it? etc.

Dom finally arrives wand in hand, "Jesus dude you really have to find the most outbid nowhere place in the castle?" he asks.

"I mean before I thought you were just doing it for attention but this.... You have issues you need to work out. I know a great therapist I see him for anger management."

Lance smiles coldly. "Still smarting from that curse this morning eh? Very well done if I do say so myself. Doubtless felt less than good.". He fingers his wand itching to draw it. That morning he had felt so powerful sending Dom flying with a spell. He hungered for that power. It helped fill the void he felt over the death of his parents. He quickly bowed and walked away 3 steps and turned. "Averte Statum!" he hissed. He flicked his wand and watched the blue bolt of light go forward hoping it would hit.

Dom listened to the boy as he spoke. As he turned around so did dominick. Dominick was only mimicing Lance, he truly had mo idea what he was doing. As he heard Lances foot steps stop, Dom listened closely. At the first hint of Lances voice, dominick whirled around to see a light coming his way. Dom tried to dodge left and shouted "Archeris!"

Lance:

Dominick:

Hit.

Lance is hit by a potentially fatal curse, so a 10% death roll occurs.
Result: No death, but injury. Lance has an arrow in the shoulder.

Lance grabs his shoulder. He can feel a rage growing inside. "Furnunculus" he whispers his voice cold as ice. He flicks the spell toward Dom and waits for the result.

When he seen Lance go down with the arrow in his shoulder he felt vindicated. Dominick realized finally that this magic thing was truly his to command and master. It was something he would dedicate his time to exclusively. Upon hearing Lance begin to chant another spell Dominick rose with confidence and chanted "Blatero!"

Hit. Dominick is affected by an Break-Out of Boils.

Dominick:

One boy have a great breakout of Boils and the other is Wounded by an Arrow.

May my Character break in now? Would be sad if one of you got too fatally wounded. ?

OOC- I mean I was just gunna go with Immobulus now. I actually kinda didn't mean to use a straight up death type spell.

Dominick quaked at the boiled but looked up determined to not lose his ground, "Immobulus!"

Lance is affected by the Immobulus Spell.


The Snake falls to the ground but is still very much present in the room.

"Vipera Evanesca" Dom said calmly with his wand at the snake.
Better get rid of this snake while Lance is immobilized

If it is successful, Dom walks over Lance and says steadily "Wingardium Leviosa"

OOC: I only remain immobile for a few seconds.
Lance quickly becomes mobile and jumps away from the snake. Lance was running out of spells but he had a combo left. "Avis" he cackles and when the birds appear "oppugno" he whispers in an icy cold voice.

Dominick:

Miss chance (increased to 4/10 due to the Boils to 5/10 as it is rather small compared to a human.)

The snake is gone.

And I would not deem a first year capable to move an entire person without a roll so here goes.

Miss chance (increased to 4/10 due to the Boils decreased to 3/10 as he is standing still..)
1d10 = 6(Again)
Hit.


Chance to be able to carry him with the spell. 60%.

Lance

Lance manage to summon the birds but his pains clouds his mind and commanding them proves difficult.

OOC-so can I like try and just take him off his feet? Or no affect?

Either way I guess, Dom follows up with more confidence now, "Flipendo" he chants strongly.

Maybe he will call it quits after this he hopes. He has an arrow in his arm, he's been frozen, I hope bein tossed in the air will do the trick
