An Endeavour towards Animal Form
Abigail Petunia had surprisingly discovered she had quite a bit of free time, once the first weeks of Hogwarts had passed. Her plants had been rather neat and well-kept by Hagrid over the summer, and the additional help hired by Hogwarts for the Greenhouses greatly reduced her taskload. And so, boredom ensued. It was relatively new experience for the usually diligent Petunia. After taking a rather abnormal nap right in the middle of the day, Petunia decided to stick to the firm princples of her Hufflepuff House and find something to do. After some study in the school's library, she had begun to learn about Animagi. Eager to enter the great few persons who achieve such a skill, and motivated also by the assistance to her work such a form may perform, Petunia began to study intensively on how to train oneself to become a Animagus.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
ooc: This event is about a 5/10 in terms of difficulty. It requires you to increase your hex proficiency in order to master the art of changing not only your shape, but the shape of a number of things. You should focus on practical application of the skill not only by reading up on known hexes, but practicing some of your own creation. After this, of course, study of magical creatures and animals should follow. I will not be moderating this event, but one of the other moderators will.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
Abigail continued to read through the book on Animagi, particularly chapters on how to become one. Initially, she was rather dismayed. She did alright at Transfiguration at Hogwarts, but certainly was no master. In hindsight of course, she realised that obviously Transfiguration was going to be a vital skill for Animagi. Despite the challenge this presented her, she decided to go for it, and borrowed several books on Hexes and Transfiguration from the library.
She returned to the Greenhouses with her books clutched in her arm, and the moment she arrived she planted the whole lot down and began to read through them. Initially, her reading focused on the Lapifors spell, having been drawn to the spell from a childhood experience where she turned a simple sunflower into a bright yellow rabbit.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
After several days of careful reading, Abigail decided to try out the spell. Perhaps thinking it would assist in this second attempt at this transfiguration spell, Abigail collected up a sunflower from Greenhouse Six, and laid it down on a table. Plucking up her courage, she drew out her wand and began the spell.
'Lapifors!'

Success, a beautiful (Caster chose colour I assume) rabbit springs forth.

Abigail smiled gleefully as the white rabbit moved down to the end of the table, leapt of it, and then left the Greenhouse entirely.
'Well, that worked. Let's try something a little harder...'
She returned to the book, and after several more minutes reading, discovered the Pullus Hex. Quickly she looked for a suitable 'opponent' to be the focus of this spell. After traversing across the grounds for a short while, she rediscovered her transfigured rabbit. It wouldn't do too much harm, she shrugged, and quickly drew out her wand and cast the spell.
'Pullus!'

'Blast.'
Abigail muttered. Once more, she tried to turn the rabbit into a goose.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
Abigail smiled as sunflower-rabbit-goose waddles off, presumably in the direction of the Black Lake. She returned to the Greenhouses, eager to continue to test her Transfiguration abilities further. After half an hour's reading, Abigail decided to try one more spell, before returning to her gardening and herbological duties for the day. Eagerly she looked for a large boulder, or rock, on the school grounds.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
Abigail admired the considerable boulder she had found. It was a shame it was to be the subject of this spell. She breathed in, drew out her wand, and cast.

Re: An Endeavour towards Animal Form
Abigail was nonchalant, she knew that it would take time to refine her skill in Hexes. Nonetheless, she tried once more, with a more authoritarian tone.
