Default Will Rome II be like the other Total war games

I really love the Total war games, don't get me wrong. Im huge fan etc. But its ridiculous that every total war game I have ever bought had some with it. I don't mean the game it self, but some problems in the installation or you have to go buy something and upgrade something. Will Rome II be like this or will CA do something to prevent this for the first time?

You are going to have to be a bit more specific.
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.

Every fricking time I have bough Total war games (I have Rome, Medieval 2, Empire, Napoleon and Shogun) it has had some with it. I have had problems with running it, or I needed to upgrade something etc. etc. And I have changed 3 times my pc over the time. Its just frustrating when I think aobut it how much time I have used just to get the games going on. The CA needs to do something about it. Its not only me, but all my friends have the same issues.

I don't think anyone can predict whether or not you'll have problems running Rome 2 or if you will need to upgrade some hardware.

Rome Total War was released in 2004. That's 8 years ago. Did you expect never to upgrade? Can you imagine playing game like Mass Effect 2/3 on a computer from 8 years ago? I upgrade once every 2 or 3 years, things change a lot within computer technology, and while it's annoying that you have to make a hefty investment every few years, I'm glad there are such evolutions. Compare games from 10 years ago, both graphically and AI-wise to recent games. And if you make a calculation: let's say you buy a new computer every two years (3 years is possible, but for simple maths let's go for 2) and you spend 1000$ (which would get you a nice computer), that means 500$ a year, which is 41$ a month. I know people who spend more in one night going out and clubbing.

Well I guess its going to be a big beast of a game so the steam buyer,s had better have a damn good broadband.
Some games can be tricky to install, Although if you are used to using mods one can usually figure it out.
My baptism will be with steam and disks on a 1 Mb broadband, probably have steam coming out of my ear's by the time I figure out this new for me software.

magpie, it's fairly easy really. You just install steam like any other program, you search which game you want to buy, you pay for it (Visa etc, maybe paypal? i'm not sure about that), the game starts downloading, and you can start playing the game. When it's released, feel free to ask questions

Thanks Biggieboy, I am just worried that my poor broadband will not cope with steam.
Although I will buy the disk pack of the game which should help with the install? and playing the game.after steam registration?

Probably, maybe surely, Rome II will give us some troubles...
Presumably someone will have to buy a new PC, for example me.
Mine is one of the latest i5 3,20 GHz with a NVIDIA video card and I have to low down many options with every TW game.
For example grass, building details, water, sky and I'm forced to set off shadows even!!
So I'm not sure I will buy Rome II so early...

Well,I bought my PC 3 years ago and it's pretty solid for todays gaming standards. It can run most of the new games.Concerning TW games,I can run M2:TW on highest settings and Napoleon:TW on medium settings.I'm not sure if I'll be able to run R2:TW but I presume I will.At least on low settings.
