Default Trouble Installing Mod on Steam

I have RTW Gold on Steam, and when I run the download for RS2 2.5, it is cancelled when a message pops up reading "installer integrity check has failed. Common causes fail to download due to damaged media files or something etc"
I just installed RTW, so there should be no 'damaged files'

To make it easier for you to help me, I installed the RS2 installer in User/Downloads, and RTW Gold is installed in Computer/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steammaps/Common

    Thanks.

Edit: I'll just download the installer again, and see if I have any luck.

sorry this is'nt an answer, i'm having the same problem. where do you put this thing? it says RSII has not been correctly installed please follow instructions. we can't be the only ones having this problem. Any one out there with a clue? Any one in the London area who knows how these pesky things work? ( installing mods that is ) I've been trawling the web for a couple of years for help in this area and i am none the wiser, impersonal computers just don't do it for me, i'd rather communicate with a human as it will only take a few minutes to explain this stuff and can save me hours and hours and hours of pratting about on the poxy internet. Glad i got that off my chest, a little help anyone?!

Hey guys, I was having the same issues as you. So here's what worked for me:
    1) Redownload or Check Loca Files for RTW Gold in Steam (Maybe tinkering with it has tampered the files)
    2) Download from the torrent in the links and download section, not the .7zip files. For some reason those did not seemed to work with my Steam.
    3) Install the mod on an empty folder in the desktop (name it whatever) then just copy paste all that's inside that folder into the install folder (steam/steamapps/common/Rome Total War you know the drill)
    4) Then! in steam right click on RTW in your library, click properties, then launch options, then write this in that space " -mod:play_Rome -show_err " (remove the quotes, and there HAS to be one space before the first dash) DONE, play it like a bauss.

Other option that seemed to work to launch it was to go into the install folder (after doing all of these steps) then to de launcher folder, then click on the launcher, arrenge preferences as wanted, then just click and play.

At the end what settled the issue for me was the complete deletion of RTW from my computer, then redownloading the whole thing from scratch. Maybe so many attempts to install the mod had messed up the files? Who knows? But that did it. Best of luck!
