So yeah, the game keeps freezing when I get to the campaign splash screen.
I searched my computer for incredibar and there was nothing.

Have you ever started a campaign?
Post your dxdiag.
Nope. It is impossible as the campaign splash screen freezes everytime
Post your dxdiag.
Could not find it in my steam folder
It's not in your Steam folder.
http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...-X-Diagnostics for reference.
If you do have Google Chrome installed, uninstall it and try it. There still maybe a conflict going on.
www.nvidia.com and try to install the latest graphics drivers.
In Nvidia Control Panel, be sure it is set to Maximum Performance,, not auto, power saving, etc.
Run Windows Update manually and install all software options.
With this game you're going to have to do some of the legwork yourself Including updating Windows (activated your copy of Win 7 yet? you will need to), and your graphics drivers.
Windows' autoupdater is a piece of crap on a good day and Nvidia knows nothing about you or your notebook.
What antivirus and firewall are you using?
I'm using Windows Firewall and Norton.
I will update both WIndows and Nvidia.
Norton has been known to block Steam and Steam ganes. Check your permissions in Norton to see if it is blocked.
Try it without chrome.
If this does not work, try it without Norton.
Tried it both ways and it still did not work. Same problem.
How long have you waited? Mine takes about three minutes to start. some for the initial time have taken twenty minutes or longer.
When I am in the Campaign Splash Screen after the bar reaches halfway it stops, and when I put my mouse pointer in the middle of the screen it shows my regular mouse icons instead of the Shogun icon. THe first time this happened I waited for like a couple hours and nothing happened. WHen I did Ctrl+Alt+Del, it showed Shogun II as not responding and I got a window that says Shogun II stopped working or something and the only option I had was a button that said Close Program
Is there an Event log to go with this?
Post the awesomium.log from the steam\steamapps\common\shogun2 folder.
Here it is
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It's not even getting to Steam.
Do you have Adobe Flash installed?
If so, uninstall it, and get a fresh install from www.adobe.com as this is another Shogun2/Google conflict already documented.
