    Default More cussing in game

Would anyone pay for a DLC that puts a lot of cursing in game? It sounded wimpy when the Greek guy said "The enemies flee the field like a bunch of frightened rabbits!" . It would just seem more like a battle if stronger language was used. And if your men were hit sometimes they would yell "Oh !" And officers would sprinkle curse words in their orders. I personally would probably pay about a dollar.

Edit: Not everyone seemed to notice my second post here, but I admit that its not worth paying for a DLC that only adds swearing. Though Ichon had a much better idea about a mature DLC.

It wouldn't make much sense because such words like that didn't even exist back then .. so it would be odd to hear someone in a 'roman' accent saying "Oh !". It would be cool if Latin curse words/slang did exist and they had appealing English translations, but I think it would be dumb to hear them yelling modern curse words ;P.

I'll admit, this would be some fun!

I wouldn't mind it being put in the game (or really care), but I wouldn't pay for it. I'd like to think that they've got the decency not to charge for that sort of thing, but the Blood Pack isn't really reassuring.

Well back in Medieval I your battle advisor was far more uncouth with his language

I can't really imaging CA creating a swearing DLC though, that's pretty much in the ridiculous category.

i actually dont care as i tend to play the game with my music blasting from my tv (as it is now) so most likely i wont notice those words being said as i rarely notice my advisers or the general talking though i do like to hear the sounds of battle (swords clashing screams and what not) so if they make those sound way better than now then i'll die a happy fan

If done well it could work but would have to be done with original voice actors. I generally play with volume off but might be tempted if it seemed appropriate. I don't see CA doing only cussing dlc but maybe a dlc that is mature... More blood, death animations, cussing, insults, defeated as rewards to the victors etc

Much better idea. After thinking about it a bit and some replies, I now think that its really not worth paying for cursing alone. What was I thinking...

In RTW the pre-battle speeches sometimes included phrases about the short length of the enemy manhoods.

But I have to say mister, this is crossing the line! Slaughter and spraying blood and limbs and bodies torn that's one thing, this the public can tolerate, but foul language? Are you not concerned about what our children will be turned into? What's next, naked fanatics?

I thought the voices will be in native languages. Then it really wouldn't matter, if there is cursing in Latin, Gaulic or Ancient Greek.

How could the languages be native? A) they'd go against the majority of the fan base cause most have no interest in watching dubbed scenes (senate), and B ) most of the languages in the game are dead :/

it would be a lot easier for devs and more fun for all gamers if there wouldnt be so many different mentalities and morals in different countries...

for example... american guys usually have no problem with violence, blood and gore but dont like nudity and swearing. in europe (especially germany) the rating organisations dont like too much violence and gore but dont mind nudity, swearing and alcohol reference

so, in the end we get either different versions or the publisher says, ok lets get rid of all that stuff altogether and then we get a game with no gore, no nudity, no swearing

I want something like RO2 "The germans are their pants!" "German !" or "Sheise granada!". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin_profanity Apparently latin profanity involved a lot of sexual refrencing.

I think I speak for the rest of my fellow American men when I say that we love nudity and swearing
Its the media however that does not...

Who the would pay money to hear a bunch of video game characters swear?

We are seriously lowering our standards people, it was bad enough with blood.

I'd rather pay for that then a couple new units or just blood.

More dev time being wasted on a feature not many really care about... I'm gonna say no.
