Something that's been bugging me.
I know this kinda sounds stupid but recently I've been wondering, where is the emperor and shogun on the map? Are they actual units or are they just invisibly in one of the cities? I'm playing as the chosu clan and it would just be nice to know where my beloved emperor lives....lol.

Isn't the emprah a general unit in the capital?

Emperor and Tokugawa Shoguns are not represented in FoTS.
Ashikaga Shogunate in SJ resides in Kyoto.

Emperors dont seem to go by the european style of fight for glory and all that caric. But im sure Rommel will correct me if im wrong.
