Potions Class

[Lord William]

William sat watching the clock as he awaited the arrival of his students, those whom have taken classes with him know that he is not a patient man and that tartiness will not be tolerated in this class. Though you will be graded on your performace throughout the year, whether you pass or fail this course shall be determined through the mid term and final examination. Grades will be posted at the end of each year on the front door.

Potions Curriculum:

1st year students: terms and functions of various potions and their ingredients
2nd and 3rd year students: Basic potion making level 1
4th and 5th year students: Advanced potion making level 2
6th year students: Master potion making level 3
7th year students: develop a potion and create a thesis

An flotilla of parchments appeared in the door at the start of the break with fifteen minutes to the class start. books was in the bottom of the heap and papers, notes, and equipment like cauldron and ingredients, was on top, behind the floating parchments plastered with her curly beautiful handwriting. Was Evangelina, in deep concentration, she moved the heap to a front row seat and sat down, then she started sorting all the parchments, for the professor who had seen her in the train would notice the texture of the papers and the handwriting on them as they were the same as the ones he had seen all over the cabin in the train going here a few days earlier. After sorting it all and the heap was as Orderly as a Gringotts Elfs' Table. It stood in great contrast to the messy bunch that had been levitated inside the class-room just moments ago, now Evangelina was visible too, looking through her potions books and sorting her ingredients. First now she noticed the professor, she had not expected anyone to be there as early as herself and sank a few times to gather courage.
"Hi, Professor."

William smiled at the eager student

Morning Ms. Silver, I hope your ready for hard studying this year will be a daunting one

[Narf]

Evie smiled slightly..
"I am glad to hear that, Professor... I look forward to it."

[Pontifex Maximus]

Atticus appeared at the door and made his way into the classroom. He sat down in his usual spot, at the front of the class, and produced his cauldron and books. The books were highly annotated, with scraps of paper hanging out of them. Atticus' reputation as a bit of a potions prodigy had been obvious to his former instructor, but with a new teacher he would need to prove himself again. He glanced up at the new professor, hoping that he would be a bit biased towards Slytherin.

Good morning, professor.

Lio walked to the Potions class, very calmly and took a sit, waiting for others to arrive

Henry peered into the classroom before entering, to make sure it was the correct classroom. He took a seat at the back and looked for any known faces. Alas, he found no one he knew, and took a seat at the very last row.

[Lucius Malfoy]

Geoffrey checks the place he was in and looks into the room. Good, he made it to the right place! He enters the classroom and takes a seat for now.

[Trot]

Demetri takes a seat by Lio.

[Zeus Almighty]

Dominick arrives at class with a little less haste than the others. Though potions seemed useful, it hadnt been at the forefront of his mind. When he saw Henry he sat down next to him and gave him a pat on the back.

"What's up Henry? Look at you in your badger badge, how do you like your new house?"

Seeing Demetri reminded he wanted to introduce them.

"Hey you know what, real quick there is someone I would like you to meet." they get up and walk to Demetri's table

"Hey Demetri, this is my friend Henry."

[Xion]

Violeta and Ashley arrive at the class, and set up their cauldrons and supplies at two stations, before waiting for the class to start.

Hi Dom he says now confortable around him Nice to meet you Henry a little more nervous around the new boy.

Dominick arrives at class with a little less haste than the others. Though potions seemed useful, it hadnt been at the forefront of his mind. When he saw Henry he sat down next to him and gave him a pat on the back.

"What's up Henry? Look at you in your badger badge, how do you like your new house?"

"Everyone's really friendly," he replied, a little too friendly, he thought.

"Most are really nice and helpful. I can't complain," he said with an honest smile, having already befriended a few.

"Are you excited about the class? I couldn't wait and read most of the material as soon as I got the books," he continued. Potion making was something that felt natural to him, and he thought himself good at it. He had never done any magic, although back home chemestry and labwork were always his favorite subjects.

How different could they be? he told himself.

"Yea I'm excited, but to be real I'm all in in transfiguration, charms and DADA. But I like to be good at everything I do." Dom answered lightly smiling.

Nigel enters and goes to a corner where almost nobody bothers to look besides the teacher.

Cecil quietly took his seat in the second-to-last row of the class with none of his usual bravado or cheer, Potions had always been one of his worst & least-enjoyable subjects and he saw no reason for it to change in 3rd year.

William stood up to greet the class, writing his name on the blackboard behind him

I am Professor W. A. Neville and this is potions, you are all in for a tough year and I should expect most of you to fail but with any luck I shall make real potion masters out of the few that shall remain

William flicked his wand and the books began to distribute themselves amongst the students

Now turn to page 14, we shall be learning about wolfbane

Evangelina found forth the notes she had made over the summer on Wolfsbane among her parchments and found page 14.

Henry opened his book on that page quickly as he had already put a note there, and several others across the book, to remember where the most fascinating parts of the book had been.

Dom sat down and readied to start.
