    Default Rome source code released

so i read on the on the modding summit topic that the rome souce code will be released
from what i understand it means, no more hardcoded limits, am i right ?
and since rome/medieval2 have the same engine (at least i think) will that mean that we would have no hardcoded limits in medieval 2 ? right ?

    imagine a EB2 whit 100 factions, a EB2 with 10000 regions, a EB2 with 10000000 units to choose to recruit, imagine a EB2 without limits...

    say i am right, please...

Only if EB crew have the manpower, for an engine as complex as R2 i bet it would have to be 5-10x the size.

    R2TW will be ridiculously complex.
Be of one mind and one faith, that you may conquer your enemies and lead long and happy lives.

Conquering the world on horseback is easy; it is dismounting and governing that is hard.

The greatest joy for a man is to defeat his enemies, to drive them before him, to take from them all they possess, to see those they love in tears, to ride their horses, and to hold their wives and daughters in his arms.

Don't know what you've seen, but EB2 with 100 factions etc would be perfect, yet won't be complete for ages.

"We found Rome source code" ??

you mean they lost their source code? all this talk about being protective of the game code and hard coded limitations etc etc when they didnt even have it??

Yes they did lose it, it might still be lost as they didn't know whether the code they found was the final release version. Apparently their backup regime was pretty haphazard in the old days and somewhere along the line it got lost.

So they would rather lose it than release it to the modders, nice going CA

how big is it any way? cant store it on a hard drive put it away in a desk or something? I had GBs for years and never lost them even though I changed hard drives/PCs many times.
