Default Turn Times...This Cant Be Real.

So I just downloaded and installed SS6.4, Which looks like a great mod btw, But theres a BIG problem.

I just started a campaign as england, finished my turn, and it literally took 10 minutes to go through the factions and get back to me. Yes, I have that mod enabled that makes it 100% slower, but still. Even if I disable that, I really dont see how turns can take 5 minutes?

Does everyone play through this or is there something i can do that im missing?

(I play EB mod for Rome Total War, which is pretty big, and that still doesnt even come close to being this slow..)

No problems here. Definitely shouldn't take that long.

Sounds like that submod is running a lot of scripts? Grim Reality? That does slow things down, but not to that extent that I am aware of...

I just turned it off, and while it did improve things, the turns still took 5 or more minutes...Obviously i cant play like this because itll only get worse throughout the game.

I am not an expert on solving the turn time thing since I've never had a problem with it, but there are a couple faster turn time submods that you can look at.

I don't get like 10 mins , but maximum 2 minutes. Meh , I don't bother with it too much , try to do some stuff after you end your turn I usually play with my puppy :d

Remember , SS has a lot of scripts and modifications , it's normally that it takes so long If you want , you could disable most of the scripts and get - 2 minutes at max but that would take all of the flavour of the mod
Throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack !

This is the most practical solution

If you can't fix it, than read a book, do some push ups, watch some educational programming, have sex (alone or not. Nobody is judging here...), or make pancakes... or play a different mod.

Might be something with your machine. I run BGR with 6.4 and it starts at about 30 seconds per turn.

By turn 100-150, it is up to 2-3 minutes per turn, but rarely ever 5 minutes, and Ive never seen 10.

My turns also take a lot of time, at start it is about 2 - 3 minutes, after turn 50 it goes to 4 mins, and i cant even imagine what it takes in turns 200 - 400.

You would laugh about how fast people can read a 7-book saga with over 700 pages each if they just wanted to play computer games.

    @OP:
Make sure your SS installation is NOT ON YOUR C: DRIVE!

I had the exact same problem like you, and when I reinstalled M2TW on my D: drive my turn times went from 10 minutes to 2 minutes (with BGR enabled).

I don't think the drive has anything to do with it. That's where my game is installed as well, and I've never had a turn time longer than 1 minute, even in to the turn 100's.

Hey can you guys post your computer specs? The ones with the 30 sec-1 min turn times...

Im lagging on the campaign map itself, when i move someone it freezes inbetween them moving. I thought i had a computer to handle this...never had a problem with any other game before this at all and ive played some demanding games...

I have 7 GB of Ram..
    Nvidia 560 TI graphics card
And a dual core 2.6 Ghz processer- yes, its not the best, but as i said before never had any problems.

This isn't really a game that's meant to be played super fast anyways.

My experience has been like 2 or 3 mins between turns like others. My computer is pretty bad also.

Although I notice on the hotseat games I've played with stainless steel the turn changes seem pretty instant, even if there are 3 or 4 AI factions between human players.

I have the same issue, trough my pc is quite old. You should reduce the shadows on campaign map, it should speed up the movement.

It would affect it having on C drive, thats where windows is... NEVER install games, etc on same drive as windows. Obvious

just turn off user account control. then you won't have to worry about installing in c drive or wherever
