I have the same question. I install and play Late first and want to play Early now.
Do I have to install SS again or there is a way to switch?

ok i'll write it out,
go to your program files -> Medieval II -> mods -> SS 6.3 -> SS-Setup (exe)
run it with administrator privileges and you can chose if you play early or late
