    Default Quick Heir question

A quick question, I want to have the 13 year old son as next heir. So far I have an heir pressumtative, he is 37 years old and adopted. But if I am not mistaken the son won't become the heir if he reaches 14 before I marry my princess away right??

I just wanted to know for sure so I could send my princess to a watery grave or mary her away to a faction.

Uhm ... what does the princess have to do with the heir and all that ?
The 13 years old kid won't become the heir, the 37 years old adopted son is the heir. If you want the 13 years old to become the heir then you must kill the adopted guy. The princess has nothing to do with this. Whether you marry her or not it won't affect the heir.
Edit: Offtopic: Also, I marry my princesses to their cousins . I do this because marriage offers for male members are almost non existent in the late game and without a wife they can't have kids now, can they ?

    ha really??, thx!!
and it's possible to marry family with each other??? well damn ok perfect. i'll mary the eldest daughter of the adopted guy to the heir I want and sink the current heir

EDIT: but isn't there a way to change heir, since the adopted guy is only "heir presummtative"??? and when you hover above it, it states he is heir till the current king has some offspring of his own....

It says that, but he will hold the title of heir regardless, you you must sink him.

Yep, but you can't marry brothers; only cousins and more distand relatives.

That's a good plan, but be sure that you kill the current heir AFTER his daughter comes of age because if he dies before his daughter reaches age 14 then she won't become a royal princess (agent on the map).

Lots of people wish this were an option. I believe the modders have said its hardcoded in and cant be changed though. Once someone is heir, they stay the heir until they become king or die

I think you should send your princess to a watery grave anyway.

Why? there are plenty of uses for a princess, and there are enough male FM's she can marry.

A watery grave sounds more romantic than marriage.

Yes, but the current heir cant be removed except through death or becoming king, and even the "next heir ancillary" isnt automatic. If you give that ancillary to some cousin or borther-in-law or even to a younger son,,, the older son will still become heir over him.

    For example...
Your king is 55, his son (the heir) is 35, the heir has two sons (18 and 16) and you want the younger son to be the next heir and you give him that crown... the older son will still overrule him.

I agree with you that you can not change the current heir but i believe the second son can become the next heir

Ive never been able to do it (even giving the 2nd son the heir crown and even when the 2nd son's stats were all far superior to the 1st son) and Ive tried several times.
