    Default "Error Windows Cannot Find '"C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_3\Third Age.bat'"

    Alright, I did a fresh install of medieval II total war gold edition to the default path, and the base game works 100% I installed third age total war and it said it was sucsessfull. But when I click the shortcut to start I get the error "windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_3\Third Age.bat'" Which is weird, because I used "show file location" and Its right there, totaly fine. I tried clicking directly on the .bat, and it doesn't work. Is this the correct path? "C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age_3\Third Age.bat"

    Hi there and welcome to the TWC forums!

    Right mouse click on your Third Age.bat file and EDIT it, it should look like this:

    Code:
    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age_3\TATW.cfg
    And right mouse click on your TATW.cfg file and edit it, first few lines should look like this:
    Code:
    [features]
    editor = true
    mod = mods/Third_Age_3

    [io]
    file_first = true
    If they don`t look like this, change them to look alike.

    And, btw, if it stil doesn`t work, then answer these questions so we can help u more:

    1. Is your M2TW steam version or DVD?

    2. What Windows do u have?

    Alright, the .bat has an "Edit" option, but the .cfg doesn't. My Kingdoms.exe is in C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War. And I have CD copy of the game.

    Also, I have windows 7 64bit.

    I found out a way to open the .cfg, and what you posted is identical.

    Have u disabled UAC before installing TATW?

    If u have M2TW installed, and Kingdoms expansion installed+ patched to 1.5( 1.05, if u haven`t, go here and find a correct patch, u will know which one is correct if u don`t get any error message during update) http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...78#post8457678 .
    Perhapse u don`t need to patch it to 1.5, but it won`t do u any harm.

    And disable UAC (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...59#post8287059) go to section `How to fix it` and apply step 3.

    Now procced to this down:

    U have to reinstall TATW, uninstall it by using Control Panel Uninstall program, after that, delete Third_Age_3 folder in C:\ ..\SEGA\Medieval 2 Total War\mods and in virtual store C:\Users\[user name or your PC`s name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files(x?)\Medieval 2 Total War\mods (if u can`t find it, then it is hidden, so follow this How to Unhide hidden folders on Windows: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...59#post8287059).

    After deleting these Third_Age_3 folders( if there were any), and disabling UAC, proceed to TATW installing, I would advise Running ALL Installers as Administrator( right mouse click and Run as Administrator),
    to be sure, u need TATW 3.0 part 1 + part 2, and both patches 3.1 and 3.2.

    For battle crashes disable daylight savings (Using Windows 7 or win Vista: Control panel > Date and time > Change time zone > uncheck "Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time").

    Hope this helps.

    Okay, that may be my problem. I installed 1+2 and patch 3.2 without installing 3.1 before. I'll download 3.1 now. THANKS!

    Well, if u have done it now AFTER your first install of TATW, then it won`t work until u reinstall TATW, and delete those two Third_Age_3 folders, one in C:\...Sega\M2TW\mods, and the other in virtual store( if there is any, check the Unhide thread I gave u the link). Just follow my post about installing it and it should work.

    Alright, I did disable UAC before installing TATW, and I'm about to run all these wizards, lol. So the run order is, Kingdom's Patch, TATW 1/2, TATW 2/2, TATW patch 3.1, TATW patch 3.2?

    That kingdoms patch is not necessary, I don`t know is your Gold edition patched to 1.5, but some people report it helped them. But the rest of the list is good TATW 1/2, TATW 2/2, TATW patch 3.1, TATW patch 3.2. Run them as Administrator ( right mouse click on the Installer/s and Run as Administrator).

    I did everything you said EXACTLY, and I still get the error about windows not finding the Third Age.bat file. I can go to file location and even see the .bat file! This just doesn't make sense! I've tried launching directly from .bat file, but it STILL won't work. =C

    Hmm, very odd.

    Did you already clear the virtual store of any TATW related files as Elvenkind suggested? Have you restarted you PC during any of the install process? (You need to restart to actually disable UAC)

    You mention you did a fresh install. So, you have previously had TATW and M2TW installed before? Perhaps something got corrupted in the registry. Run a registry cleaner like CCleaner.

    I ran a registry cleaner. I did NOT restart my PC. I will turn it off tonight after total uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING tomorrow. lol. I'm not sure what virtual store is, but I used uninstaller, and deleted Third_Age_3 and anything els that came up when I use "Third Age" In the search box.

    I will turn off my CPU and turn it on tomorrow and try the whole TATW install again. Or should I reinstall Medieval II and TATW?

    Have u looked at my previous post to delete Third_Age_3 folder in virtual store? And if u can't find it, follow the HowTo Unhide link which I provided u in that post of mine.

    Normally there shouldn't be any reason to reinstall base M2TW in this case I don't think.

    Alright, I deleted Third_Age_3 just from SEGA Program files X86, and there is nothing in virtual store. Just Teutonic. I'll make restore point and install it again. lol.

    I'm going to get this thing installed if it kills me. Yes, the only thing under mods in virtual store is Teutonic, do I need to delete that as-well?

    Yeah, wich is SO weird. It looks like my system just won't open the .bat file for some reason. Should I just delete the whole medieval II in virtual store?
