    Default SS setup not working

I recently downloaded Stainless Steel. I followed all the instructions to install it but when I went to open the setup an error message came up saying "Not enough campaigns or files missing".
I don't know what to do - please help!

Please disable your UAC, re-install SS6.3, then SS6.4, find MTW2/Mods/SS6.3, find SS Set Up, select, right click and Run as Admin

Hi, Not to ure if this is the right area so to speak for help. But heres the problem. Im running on xp 64bit windows. And following the istalation of part one; ie 6.3 SS at the very end a notice pops up as follows
"Unable to execute file:C:\Games\SS6.3\SS_setup.exe" followed by.
    "CreateProcess failed;code 14001."
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.Reinstalling the application may fix this."
Ive downloaded the mod 3 times from the torrent site. have installed it on C: Drive\ E: Drive and now installed it out side of the mod folder.Help would be very much needed here.

Is your MTW2 and SS6.3 and SS6.4 installed on the same drive?
When you installed was your UAC disabled?

Thanks for the fast responce. Ive installed MTW2 on E drive\Program files (86x) At the request of the game . Unpacked as normal and then from my save mod files from external D drive loaded and ran SS 6.3/6.4 onto E Drive. To my suprise this is what has happened. SS 6.4 has always ran on my PC,it was only the fact that I had to do an upgrade on ram that I decided to do a clean installation of my xp o/s as well. Anyway. Ive had no problems in DLV or TATW3 loading as normal. So im asking could it be an error on download files.????

As for UAC disabled I will check. Please remind me of the correct path on XP to loacate it.
    Thanks again.

Your absolutely right, there is no UAC on XP, on the basis that other mods work, its either a faulty d/l or a bad install, so I would suggest to remove SS, Registry Clean, defrag and a clean up, then re-install. If that does not work, then it looks like a faulty d/l, check all file sizes or just delete them and re-download

Thanks yet again for been fast to respond. I did notice a few things.

There is an "Open Error Log" short cut in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Stainless Steel file? However it says its to "E:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\SS6.3\system.log.txt". But there is NO log.

When the set_up crashes it says See log bla bla bla.

Sooo Have I to create this log folder or should the mod produce one of its own.????????

I even went into the SS mods propertys and ticked "make compatable with XP,then 2000, then 95.

    no luck. Any help.

Oh and this downloads are the torrent ones if it means anything

There is the problem you have MTW2 and SS stored in different drives, they must be in the same drive. What folders are in your C Drive?

Well my friend. Ive went through C: drive (which is my main O/S drive) found a few files refering to SS 6.4 and went into E: drive (for games only). Cleaned all that out so, again I will try.
I set up any installation in the following manor.
    1) Install disc and when prompted choose E: drive,
    2) With MTW2 I did just that and works fine.
    3) However the unpacker stage I cant remember been given the option to which drive to put that on.?
Should I have been prompted, or would it not ask.
    4) All MTW2 and sub sections mods work as above.
    5) I will download the files which are split up. ie NOT the torrent. Try,try again.

Hi my friend, Got it work at last. Following a complete scan to remove all trace of SS 6.4. I looked into the apps side of things that maybe needed to run some mods, games etc. Java came up as one of them needed. And although I have Adobe etc on, I downloaded Java. and to my suprise using the installation of SS6.4 I already had on my D:drive, it worked like a charm. Soooo, this maybe something or nothing, who cares Im SS6.4 up again.

    Thanks for your support.
