    Default Overpowered AI generals.

Hey I'm playing camapaign and I absoultley hate the AI generals. They are uber staked with command stars or will gain command stars by just doing nothing. A character in my faction can fight hundreds of battles but still will never get as much command stars as the AI. It is such BS when I go into a nation and there and every single enemy general is an OP general, its okay having 1 or 2 OP generals historically speaking but all of them? No.

The only way to win battles is to kill their general and their troops route instantlly. Which will cost so many of my troops since the general is so overpowered. The only way is to send multiple full stack armies into enemy territory requiring no straetegy to but to kill their general. This is totally unrealistic. Even Pompey as a good general had soldiers route.
is it possible to remove these traits and stars?

What battle difficulty are you playing on that Stars make *that* much of a difference? Stars provide a relatively minor bonus, unless you're Auto-Calcing all your battles. And most generals are pretty easy to take out anyway, assuming you're using units appropriate to the task (IE, AP Lancers and such against Armoured Cavalry Generals instead of Light Cavalry with non-AP weapons).

You know what a good way of breaking an army with a minimum of casualties was? Headhunt the general. The Persians utilized it against the Greeks, and nearly took out Alexander in one of his first battles by baiting him and sending a force specifically to murder his face.
I beat back their first attack with ease. Properly employed, E's can be very deadly, deadlier even than P's and Z's, though they're not as lethal as Paula Abdul or Right Said Fred.

Stars provide a huge difference......most AI generals are full stared generals.....once you kill them the enemy routs.

Yeah go fight a million battles and your generals will never be as good as an AI general. Go into enemy territory and find a million star generals for almost all of them. So realistic.

Oh, you were only referring to the morale boost? Well, duh, because that's really all Generals are good for. Hell, I've used Captain-led armies to beat equally-sized, similar-quality 5+ Star FM-led armies. Of course, if morale is making *that* big a difference, then the problem is that your tactics suck, because slugging it out with individual units is a bad way to win.

I'm not complaining about difficulty. I'm just saying its so BS that every AI general is a full stared general. A nation of a million Hannibals. The player has to fight multiple battles in order to be a full stared general and the AI doesn't, I see AI generals gain stars just by sitting there.

As I said, there are there simply so that you can have a challenge in every fight, and not get yourself bored with overunning countless incompetent AI armies.

And stars are pointless because the only really useful boost (Morale) can be easily made up for by traits that generals get. A negative Command FM can beat a 5+ Command AI pretty easily if he's got +Morale traits - I tend to do it, because my Roman games tend to have one decent general per generation, with several squeamish, drunken, effeminete cowards clinging to their nurses' skirts leading other armies.

I believe the only effect stars have on the battlefield is that they extend the radius of commanders morale bonus. A 10 star general can easily cover his entire army with his morale boost.

Yes, the enemy generals are hard to kill, but luring them out with skirmisher cavalry, and then swamping them with either heavy cavalry or axe armed light cavalry should work.

I wonder which AI generals you think are hard to take out? Which factions are you facing? I dont feel that they are over powered. In my battles i never focus on taking the AI general out. Usually they make a charge or stupid move anyway.

The 10 star generals are there for a reason: To provide a challenge.

You have the brain to do tactical manouvres and strategy on the battlefield. The AI does not, so it has been given top notch generals to compensate.
