Announcements
I'll use this thread to convey important messages, FAQs, and other information I would like readily accessible to everyone without having to go thread diving.

Re: Announcements
Based on everything that has been said so far, Lucius Malfoy and I are going to speak on Friday and then we will lay down the law in terms of the game mechanic, rules edit (for economy, for divination, for some spell tweaking), and positions for the Ministry and Hogwarts.
1. In the meantime, everyone needs to Register or re-register their character in the appropriate thread.
2. Continue participating in discussions on various topics. If you don't let your voice be heard Lucius and I can't engineer the game to be what everyone wants.
3. Register in the proficiency tracker. You can't really do anything until you are registered there as well. Moderators will have no way of determining your skills, so all your spells will be instant failures.
4. Continue to suggest events!
As of right now I have sent in an ad to Hex for the game. Once the ad has been up for eight hours we will begin. I will do rolls for the lotteries, we will distribute points, and we will pick up where we left off.

Re: Announcements
Changelog from 1.0 to 2.0:
- One year will last ten days instead of fourteen (Going through years 1-7 of Hogwarts will take 2.5 months)
- Players may create additional main characters with the following provisions: Characters belonging to the same player may not be at Hogwarts at the same time. Characters may be related, but cannot be used to mutually benefit one another. While it is not mandatory for the first main character to go through Hogwarts, all other main characters MUST go through Hogwarts.
- The economy system will remain, but only 1 NPC shop will exist. This shop will initially contain everything that needs to be purchased until such a time that a new shop is created by players. The appropriate merchandise will then be placed in the correct shop.
- Divination will be added to the rules based on this proposal
- Events will be group based as opposed to personal. They may involve teachers, certain classes, ministry departments, the entire ministry, the entire school, House based etc.
- Assignments for moderators are forthcoming. Keep your eyes peeled for the respective thread.
- If you want an aspect added to the game or rules edited, make a proposal
Our Timetable:
- Hogwarts will open day 1 when we begin. Our oldest students will be 3rd years, the youngest will be first years. After this initial seven weeks of Hogwarts RP, Hogwarts will close for four weeks. At the end of this period, Hogwarts will re-open for a single class. If the class numbers under three students, the class will be rolled back until there are enough. This ensures a minimum of three people in each class.
- Out Game Mechanic is to orient Hogwarts: We devote a considerable amount of time in the beginning part of this game with ONLY Hogwarts RP, with perhaps minor Ministry involvement when there is overlap. RP can still exist for adult wizards outside the Hogwarts setting, but moderator actions will be kept to a minimum and will be a very much opt-in thing. It is perhaps a time for adults to get to now eachother and do minor RP and character development. We will need Hogwarts to be fully staffed of course, including the basic six positions. Depending on the interest of people wanting to teach, we may open up other elective classes for an opportunity to win more points.
- There is an ad that should be posted soon for the game. Once we get the new players from that ad signed up, we will begin Hogwarts RP, and the game, immediately.
- Rolls for the lotteries will be done by Sunday

Re: Announcements
We're doing really well so far.
As a reminder, we have about three more days in this year, teachers should be thinking about a final exam if they are gonna give one and get ready to mark final grades. The points I assign teachers will reflect the quality of Rp they've done.

Re: Announcements
There's been a lot of questions being asked as to what constitutes enough effort shown to succeed in quests or win bonuses in extra, out of classroom RP. I have a few examples of the sort of thing I look for:
This post, and Xion's right below it.
This post, and Raglan's overall effort in the thread.

Re: Announcements
I moved all adult quests to the ministry to declutter Hogwarts. You can still RP yourself at Hogwarts in the thread regardless of the fact the thread is in the ministry.
