Kwarezem or Byzantine

I`m about to start a new campaign

And i can`t decide between playing the Kwarezem or Byzantine. I have always played as a catholic nation before so i wanna try to mix it up! So should i fight to reclaim the glory of the old roman empire

or fight back the mongols?

hopefully your going for an early campaign, late campaign is an absolute travesty playing as these factions

If you're a terrible player....

If you can revive the Byzantines and retake the former territories.. nobody can stop you, not even the Mongols.

I'm not implying anyone/myself are terrible, I'm just saying it's very difficult but not hard to do

i love kwarezm. but i tried one early campaign with them and it was a disaster.i spent 45 turns to fortify my cities to the best and make excellent armies to defend against the mongols only to be overrun!! damn those trebuches!! damn them!

If you are prepared for a massive fight against mongols, than try out Khwarezm. If you want a little buffer in that respect, pick the Byzantines. Either way, it'll be a fun campaign.

I play Late period, and in my opinion, these 2 factions are difficult to play.

Byzantine: you are besieged by Tusk, Hungary and Venice, they're very strong.

Khware: you have to face with a disaster, the Golden Horde in the turn 1

. After that, in about 1370, the Timurid will come to you first before they go further to the North or West.

Anyway, if you prefer challenge game, they are options for you. Have fun

Im gonna go for a eraly era campaign with Kwarezem, so i can prepare myself for the mongols and drive them back

Nooooo, play the Eastern Roman Empire and use THIS!

Its gonna make you jizz all over the place when you see the aweseomeness of these units

I love the Byzantines, I think they're the most unique and fun faction, so if you haven't tried them just do it. But you could also try a Muslim campaign with the Kwarezm, because they have their back covered, until the Mongols come...

Yeah, i went for a Muslim campaign now, but i am going to try out the Byz after i finish this campaign!
