    Default Memory question?

Ok i have a quick question about system memory, what is the difference between ddr and ddr 2? Do they require different slots or something and if so then what does each one look like?

The reason Im asking is i bought a ddr2 memory module and I thought that it would fit in my computer but I had some trouble getting it in and i dont if its just i dont know what the hell im doing or if its the wrong kind of slot.

DDR stands for "Double Data Rate". DDR2 memory is faster, more advanced memory than DDR. Each requires a mainboard that is configured for that specific kind of memory, and they won't work if installed in a system not configured for them. Check out Incinerate's stickie entitled: PLEASE READ, before you post a question Follow the directions and we'll be able to help you more effectively. The main thing we need to know is what kind of mainboard do you have.....

PS you really have to mash memory into the slot pretty firmly. It always feels like your going to break it to me.....
