Tuscana-Spoleto War - War of Italian Conquest
On 1002 AD the diplomatic scenario was in chaos on the Italian Kingdom. After the Emperor dead all of the Italian nobles started their campaign for the throne. For Duke Otto this was not acceptable, he was the only legitimate man to hold the throne. With this the time to broke the alliance with the south came, it was not acceptable for Duke Otto I that his supposed ally was running on the elections against him. So, on an early morning of February the alliance with the south was broken, a month latter, war was declared!
On the 3rd of March Tuscan armies invaded Spoleto, South Italy!
4,500 mercenaries from the Lombard Company followed by 10,500 levies were sent to besiege Spoleto.
Around the same time other troops were sent to other regions,
3,000 levies were sent to occupy Orbettelo
3,500 levies were sent to occupy Ancona
5,000 levies were sent to occupy Orvieto

The word spread quickly, Duke Otto wanted to make clear that those who are with him will be fairly rewarded. Those who dare to join his enemies are to smashed!
