Thread: LME4 Feedback and bug reporting thread

  1. #1

Default LME4 Feedback and bug reporting thread

Use this thread when posting your feedback or bug reports.

Bug reports should comply with the following template:

    • Description of the bug
    • Campaign where bug was encountered
    • What faction you're playing
    • Any specific unit or feature involved
    • Additional information or details

It is my plan to submit an LME4 hotfix/minor patch later this month fixing any bugs.

    Minor bug:

    -1792 Campaign
-Polish king doesn't have name, only the number "II". Of course you know it should be Stanisław II August Poniatowski, if you wanted a full name

Everything else is working fine so far.

    Confirmed and fixed!

Thank you for the report+Rep. It was caused by a bad link between campaign startpos.esf and text file.

Some Spanish units doesn't show their names. Tested in 1792 and 1805 scenarios.

I'm sure that I'm probably just doing something wrong, but when I try to set up a custom battle, I can't see the button to start the battle, it looks like its off the screen to the right.

    Congratulations on 4.0, iutland!

Trying this out now. Feedback so far:

    1. Very odd behavior with cavalry versus squares in custom battle, playng France versus Britain. The cavalry (Brunswick lacers) half-hearteldy charge and end up bouncing about about next to the square (kind of counter charging but never quite getting going and standing with their backs to the square), and a few infantry rush out in between the cavalry semi-counter charges and die despite the fact no enemy are near them.
    2. AI general unit does not charge - they draw swords and then freeze, staying put until they get killed.

I have dried darthmod mod epic version 2.6 and its not nearly as epic as lme imho. You should recreate empire total war on the Napoleon Campaign map =D

After lots of NTW mods its my very first time now with LME.

    Short my feedback

    + expanded tech tree
    + beautiful uniforms
    + many different units
+ country specific units when conquered
    + different timeframe campaigns playable
    + good BAI
    + expanded replenishment time
+ good launcher with additional sub mods
    + nice new music
    + nice new musket sound
    + new campaign missions

    - poor CAI (poor movement by army or navy, sometimes sticky to one place for many many turns)
    - CAI should be much more forced to get back its lost territories
    - additional sub mod for smoke looks too artificial
    - battle sound with low epic perfomance
    - no any notice or ceremony when the new LME mission objectives were met

As you can see more positve impressions imo. I like the mod and really can recommend LME 4, well done

Pdguru, this is what I tried to explain you yesterday on your units page. This seems to me the same problem in LME3 with cavalry. Same about general staff raising swords and freezing...sadly it seems remained but anyway, I would try this definitive version after a summer with LME3.

I am playing as Poland-Lithuania in the 1792 and not sure if this is a bug or is intended, but...am I suppose to suffer attrition in my home region during the winter? It just doesn't seem, right...

Thank you for the constructive feedback Pdguru+Rep

Per our discussion yesterday the charging behaviour is fixed in the upcoming LME4 patch including a minimization of the "flying horseman" observation.

The General charge or not seems dependent on the overall army composition and battle situation. In campiagn battles they generally stay behind own units as intended instead of riding into the fray.

If any unit is in an area of cold attrition without the ability to withstand it, it will suffer unlees within a city/town. Poland is an area of cold attrition as in vanilla NTW.

The CAI observation is that with or without UAI?

Which submod do you think looks artificial. Please remember that both BSM and WoS are unedited, so your feedback might be helpful to the creators of those smoke mods Same goes for the battle sounds. Also please try not to use the word "Epic", we are not working in the movie business, and it sounds excessive in my ears

    Cheers

I am glad you like but I don't think it's epic, I will let other modders keep that expression for themselves

Delete text pack file from previously installed third party mod

Increase your screen resolution or download the "Vanilla Battel UI" submod to solve it.

    I really enjoy this mod.

I just have one suggestion a small one.- in the tech tree for France, "Religious Conformity" should be changed to "Religious Toleration". Napoleon did reconcile the RCC with post-revolutionary France, but he was essentially a deist whose enlightenment ideas about religion were that it was good for the hoi polloi, but had no place in ruling an empire. He was also a supporter of the Jews, as well.

The effect would essentially be the same- less religious unrest, but you wouldn't see a conversion of the populace per se. I would put it as a +1 happiness for the lower classes and -1% religious unrest.

When trying to set up a battle between French Royalists and the French Republic, I get a CTD as soon as I select FR. Tested on two maps.
I'll see if the same happens if I select FR first.

I apologize for my nubness as this is my first go around with NTW, as I generally stick to ETW and M2:TW. I finally decided to install it after seeing your mod on the front page. Needless to say it had pique my interest.
